Where should we park?

If you're driving in just for the ceremony, there is street parking available in the neighborhood at meters, which generally end at 6 PM in San Francisco and are not used on Sundays unless there's an event (there shouldn't be, the Warriors are out of the playoffs and the Giants are out of town). For hotel weekenders, there's a couple of options. If you arrive Friday night, be prepared to park on the street - there's a graduation at the Giants stadium and lot parking is booked. However, you can move your car at the start of metering to Lot A, which is next to the hotel. You can use Spot Hero and park in Lot A. Luma also has a valet for $80 a day. You can also take Uber/Lyft or public transportation - the location is convenient to Bart, the Muni Light Rail, bus lines, the ferry, and CalTrain. https://spothero.com/search?kind=city&id=26&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=keyword_find+parking%3A%3Amatchtype_p&utm_content=%3A%3Aadpos_%3A%3Anetwork_o%3A%3Adevice_c%3A%3Aa_campaign_412763862&ad_grp_id=1298523591265683&msclkid=1c6d8b066de912d3b0aced48dc7dcd49&view=dl

Where should we stay?

Luma is a boutique hotel about 3 blocks from the venue. It will be where we are staying and where the wedding afterparty will be. We have a room block but it has limited capacity. Guests are encouraged to book there separately, but the Hyatt Place and Via are only a few blocks further. Union Square is also a short light rail ride away, and lots of SF is within 15 minutes by Uber.

What is the link to the room block?

Will the ceremony be at the same venue as the reception?

Yes. We will have the ceremony at the venue.

How is the food going to work?

Spark Social is an event space home to dozens of food trucks. Each guest will receive a series of coupons which will cover the price of a meal, allowing you to choose your own adventure for dinner. Two bar areas, one in the public section of the park and one in the event venue, will be available for guests. Guests will have wristbands and drinks will be included.

What all will be happening over the course of the weekend?

The wedding party will have a welcome dinner on Friday. After that, all guests are invited to the funky, semiformal ceremony on Saturday at 5 PM at Spark Social. An afterparty will follow at Luma's rooftop bar (Cavaña) starting at around 9 a few blocks away. On Sunday, we'll have an urban hike planned for Land's End on the western side of San Francisco, followed by lawn games in the Presidio, dinner at Super Duper Burger, and drinks at Wizards and Wands (feel free to come and go as needed!). Taking full advantage of the extended weekend, we'll take a group trip out to Napa on Monday. Please RSVP for whichever pieces of the weekend that interest you so we can make some rough reservation calculations.

Will we be able to bring our children?

We love your children, but we are unable to accommodate children at the ceremony location (excepting those in the wedding procession). If this will present a burden, there may be other parents staying near the venue for a potential co-sitter situation. Children may join other parts of the wedding weekend.

Why the whiteboard?

When Laura and Kyle started dating, Kyle would leave questions for Laura on the whiteboard in their hallway. These questions were a way of getting to know each other better. When Kyle asked Laura to marry him, it only made sense to do it on a whiteboard.

What is the forecast for the day of?

As of 5/16, the forecast is for a very San Francisco-y day: mostly sunny and a cool 62*F at 5 PM. We expect to use the outdoor and indoor areas as the chance of rain is only 2%.
