Ours isn’t a typical love story. It’s one built through resilience, growth, and a whole lot of grace. Laura grew up on a quiet island in Rhode Island—Prudence Island—surrounded by nature and horses, yet carrying the weight of deep loss. After her mother’s illness and passing, she was placed in care and separated from her siblings. With the support of strong women and mentors, she rose from a painful past to become a psychotherapist, dedicating her life to helping others heal. Modeling became a surprising path during college—one that led her to host an event where a backpack-wearing man with glasses handed her a pack of gum…and unknowingly changed her life. That man was BK—focused, humble, and quietly holding things together behind the scenes.&nbsp;Manager to a Grammy award winning music artist, he worked his way up from the ground with grit and heart. Raised between discipline and tenderness, he vowed to be a different kind of man: one who loved, provided, and protected his family. Their connection began with gum, banter, and bold moves in New York, but the bond that followed was anything but simple. From long-distance love to starting over in Atlanta, near-death scares, career shifts, parenthood, breakups, and reconciliations—there were moments that nearly broke them. But through it all, they chose each other. Again and again. Now, ten years later, after therapy, faith, prayer and growing up together, they are ready to say “I do.” Not because it’s perfect—but because it’s real. This wedding, aboard the MSC Seascape, is more than a celebration—it’s a full-circle moment. The ships theme is New York, the city where they had their first date and never looked back. And the ocean setting is deeply intentional. Laura chose the sea to feel close to her mother in heaven, and to honor the island roots that shaped her early years. It’s a place of memory, meaning, and healing. Laura is a passionate spirit—an artist, a mother, a healer. She loves sunsets, stars, the ocean, and truth-telling. BK is her anchor—strong, loyal, humble, with a heart as big as his dreams. He finds peace in the woods, joy in family, and pride in providing. They are opposites in many ways—city meets country, glam meets grit—but they’ve built something solid in the middle: a family rooted in love, laughter, faith, and fierce commitment. This wedding isn’t just a celebration of a couple. It’s a celebration of healing, hope, and the kind of love that never gives up.
