Steve and Laura started building a relationship in the Covid times of January 2021. They romantically decided to wait to meet in person until they were both vaccinated. This led to long distance first dates over Facetime, and dates watching movies "together" from afar. Their first in person lunch date had the ease of a 7th or 8th date, and they spent the whole day together because neither one wanted to leave.

That lunch date kicked off many months of Steve and Laura driving between Ithaca and Hamilton each weekend. Both thought to themselves that this must be something special if they were excited to make that drive to see each other. Steve could have brought flowers or chocolates to Laura's apartment for the first time, but instead knew that Ruth Bader Ginsberg merchandise would go farther in her heart.

Steve and Laura fell into an easy love over simple things like long walks, movie marathons, and dancing in the kitchen together. They have had some of their highest highs and lowest lows together, and are the best support team for each other. Some of their favorite spots became Ithaca, Hamilton, Glass lake, the beach, and all of the cities they visited on their epic road trip.

Steve proposed to Laura on August 1, 2022 in her home away from home, Long Beach Island, New Jersey. They had a beautiful moment together on the beach, and then she was able to celebrate with all of her extended family. Since then, they have enjoyed life living in Cortland together and wedding planning. After attending many wonderful weddings of friends, they are excited to celebrate with all of their loved ones on their own special day!
