From there, they would talk frequently and schedule a date at Surf in Portsmouth for the following Tuesday. Little did they know, this pesky thing called COVID-19 would come, shut down every restaurant in state and ruin their first date...or so they thought.

After several text conversation, they agreed to meet and have a virtual date over FaceTime. Michael was definitely into the idea more than Laura; she showed up to the virtual date fresh out of the shower in her Big Time Rush oversized T-shirt, wet hair, and no makeup. But, that didn't stop either of them from catching feelings immediately. Their first date lasted 7 hours and 51 minutes. They would continue to date virtually until they both agreed to safely meet in person. They spent the whole weekend together and, well, fell in love almost instantly.

From there, they would navigate a pandemic, several job shifts, new apartments, a crazy Corgi, and a move out of state. One thing never changed amidst the craziness and chaos, their love for one another. Michael successfully surprised Laura on May 2nd, 2023 at 7:14 pm in the middle of the ocean when he asked his best friend to marry him. She, of course, said yes!
