It was late October 2019. Nick had just returned from a trip to Australia and was feeling down on his luck with the dating scene. His best friend Pat convinced him to join the dating app, Hinge. Laura felt similarly after a slew of bad date experiences. She had recently spent 3 hours on a date hearing about nothing other than rock climbing from an unfortunate suitor. Little did she know, her prince charming could double that time talking about lizards.


Laura was one swipe away from deleting the app (for the 5th time) when along came Nick, taking interest in her photos from Ireland. She, in fact, wooed him with no other than a rock-climbing picture.


The two talked for about a week before meeting at the most romantic first date spot... Dave and Busters. Fueled by a few beers and the thrill of competition, the two exchanged many great conversations and even more arcade battles and laughs. That night, Laura pulled a prank on Nick by hiding in a different booth when he went to the restroom. To his disbelief, he returned to an empty booth and was in shock that the date may not have been as successful as he believed. As he stood there staring at the empty booth, she popped out from the next booth over and immediately, he knew she was the one. After the date, Laura spoke to her friend Maggie saying she believed she just met her future husband. The rest... is history.
