Its no surprise to many that the ER nurse marries the Police Officer. As cliché as it may be, those crazy work lives and the friends who became family at work are why their paths crossed. Chad being a homicide detective, is no stranger to the west city inner city Emergency Room that Laura called home. It was in the midst of ER chaos their work sometimes is intertwined, without them even knowing it or ever even officially meeting at work..... but it wasnt until a fateful night at TEASERS PUBLIC HOUSE, that they would officially meet. The classic story of a girls nigh out to drown the sorrows of a relationship lost was exactly why Laura was out and throwing them back with the ladies... one of the girl had just broken up with a guy, and needed girl time- so... they do what they do best with a broken heart and drink at TEASERS !! When all of the sudden a handsome group of gentlemen walk into the bar.... the casual flirt, the smiles across the bar ... the men smile in return, and without hesitation, buy the ladies a round.... It takes no time at all and theyre all chatting, talking shop, the usual bar banter..... but one man stands out to one girl in particular....

Lauras mom always used to tell her- hey maybe take some time, dress up a little more girly, be a little more feminine, dont always talking about fishing, scuba and the outdoors..... and maybe youll meet a great man someday, boys dont want to just hear about you fishing....well.... In true Laura fashion, that was not going to happen.... in nothing but a pair of old torn up jeans and a hoodie- Laura is showing Chad tons of fishing trip photos particularly one of HUGE salmon, ( the first spring chinook in case you were wondering) shes ever landed while house sitting for her brother in Oregon. A fish so huge she can barely hold it up- all while bundled up in mis-matched winter layers- looking ridiculous like a true weathered fisherwoman of the pacific northwest. She goes on a on about fishing and talking about her upcoming Great White shark trip to Isla Guadalupe- where she will spend days on a boat in international waters scuba diving with great whites. To most- this would sound like a hard pass- but, not to Chad. The intrigue is genuine. One of the girls tells Chad- well you better get her number tonight because shes probably going to get eaten by sharks in a week and they all laugh, the night continues, the stories, the drinks, the talks of lifes adventures and all the crazy plans in Lauras never ending bucket list. She writes her number on a coaster.....and a few days later a text from an unknown number... something she would never typically respond to... but the universe said do it.... and now there is a life being built together that is filled with endless crazy adventures, a bucket list that has more than doubled, and two people who have truly found what it means to have a soul mate.
