For Laura and Mike to be getting married at Saint James just makes perfect sense. Laura had been working at Saint James School for a few years already, and Mike was in the midst of his school counseling internship. He was returning to the school where he had graduated from all those years ago. Now, what romantic story wouldn't be complete without a lunch duty supervision meet-up? Laura knew how to do these, but Mike the intern, who was thrown into duty without being told what to do. Sorry, Laura, he was of no help. A few months and some Facebook messages later, Laura and Mike officially started dating on Valentine's Day in 2020.

A few short weeks later the world shut down due to the pandemic. This was new territory for Laura and Mike, but not even a global pandemic was going to get in the way of this relationship. While meeting each other's family and friends took a little longer than it normally would, it made those days so meaningful.

About three and half years later Laura and Mike revisited a forest preserve where they had gone to early on in their relationship. Laura was excited to go for a walk on a nice day. While walking along the path, they were enjoying the pretty views and reminiscing about that one early date. It wasn't too long before Mike got down on one knee to ask Laura if she would marry him. Without hesitation Laura said YES! Mike had both of their families waiting for them at Laura's parents' house to celebrate. It was such an exciting day!

Laura and Mike can't wait to make it official and spend the rest of their lives together!
