The year was 2020. The setting: COVID. Austin had just moved back home after spending a few enlightening years out in Utah. Laura had just started her [final] year at Iowa where she would go on to earn her English Degree. Their paths crossed how most typical millennials meet these days...through the dating app Hinge. Laura made the first move, naturally, by "liking" Austin's photo as she just couldn't resist that sweet smirk on his face (both photos attached below for reference). Austin was intrigued by the Baltimore Raven's jersey that Laura was wearing and started the conversation by asking "Why the Baltimore Ravens?" to which she replied "Because I look great in purple and Vikings fans are arrogant" (Sorry David). The conversation didn't stop from there and they eventually went on their first date at Barrel House. What was supposed to be an hour long dinner turned into 4 hours and Greg was convinced Laura got kidnapped (maybe). As it turns out, prior to that first date, Laura thought Austin was older and Austin thought Laura was taller so in a way they both got cat-fished. Fast forward a short 4 years later and now...... they have cats.

We can't wait to get married and to be able to celebrate with all of our closest family and friends in attendance. You have all meant so much to our relationship over the last 4 years and we are so grateful for everyone who has provided guidance, given wisdom, or just been a friend. Here is to the next chapter of us!
