The real magic was when we first met,&nbsp;not including the times Laura groupie stalked Tim (at&nbsp;a young ripe&nbsp;age of 21). One night at the Red Devil in San Francisco,&nbsp;Laura&nbsp;was sporting a pretty elegant hot pink onesie with a black fanny pack. Tim was in a blue sparkle suit. From the crowd, Laura spotted&nbsp;Tim&nbsp;(not knowing if he even noticed her).&nbsp; She&nbsp;was crushing hard on this one. Once the show ended, she&nbsp;was hoping he would come out, to her surprise he did. It didn't&nbsp;take much to make him fall for her. By the end of the night, she&nbsp;gave him her number (he will argue he asked for hers first-&nbsp;he didn't). The next day they went on a date to a real classy place called Peet's Coffee. They walked around downtown Palo Alto (twice)&nbsp;discussing their whole lives- and the rest folks, is history.

When we first locked eyes 

I actually didn't think we would get engaged for another year or 2, so when my sister in law, Kendra,&nbsp;asked for us to come down to San Diego for her baby shower I didn't think much of it. He said he couldn't come because he had a gig (which was not out of the ordinary). So, I went with my sisters and we had a blast!&nbsp;After the baby shower was over, my sisters and I were trying to race to the Catamaran- one of my all time favorite places in San Diego. I was excited to just sit at the fire pit and get a large glass of wine. Once we arrived, my sister, Lisa, insisted we take a photo on the beach- I asked why (she never wants to do those types of things) and she said: "because we all looked good". I didn't argue, we did look really good. So out we trecked on to the sand in tall wedges- which was not easy to do. Once out there in the corner of my eye, I see a creepy guy sitting with an umbrella, jacket and hat. Still not thinking much&nbsp;of it, my sisters and I start taking photos. When all of the&nbsp;sudden I hear a voice behind me yelling "Babe!"... and keeps yelling "BABE!". At this point I was thinking to myself, "that sounds like Tim...&nbsp;boy that's annoying...&nbsp;someone better answer this dude". Then I hear "Laura!". I turn, and it's Tim. Now at this point, I&nbsp;still didn't&nbsp;expect anything. Now I'm just shocked he's here and that maybe he came down to spend the rest of the weekend with us. Then he grabs my hand&nbsp;and starts saying how much he loves me. Now, at this point, I&nbsp;knew&nbsp;it's about to go down,&nbsp;and I'm now trying to process what is happening. He gets down on one knee and asked, and I&nbsp;obviously said YES! The most special part of all of this is that both my sisters were there and my brother&nbsp;was snapping photos&nbsp;from&nbsp;the hotel balcony (something I secretly always wanted him to do). Needless to say, it was the best surprise proposal of all time.

Directions from Interstate 280:

Take the Woodside Road exit west&nbsp;toward Woodside and La Honda.&nbsp; This is Hwy 84, also known as Woodside Road,&nbsp;and further west, as La Honda Road.&nbsp; Stay on this road for about 10 miles.&nbsp; The Pearson Ranch is located exactly 3 miles past the intersection with SR 35 (@ mile marker 12.00).&nbsp; Look for a large red barn on the right and take the next LEFT driveway.&nbsp; Follow the gravel driveway up about ¼ mile to the tan barn to unload.&nbsp;



Some helpful hints:



1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;There are 3-digit mailbox numbers along La Honda Road.&nbsp; Ignore these. The correct street address numbers are 5 digits (11862 for the Pearson Ranch).



2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Some mapping apps may direct you through Portola Valley and up OLD La Honda RD. Do not do this.&nbsp; Go through the town of Woodside.



3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This is a heavily traveled winding road.&nbsp; Drive cautiously, and watch out for cyclists.



 



Directions from SR 1:&nbsp;&nbsp;



From SR 1 take La Honda Rd heading east towards La Honda. The Pearson Ranch is located exactly 12 miles from SR 1.&nbsp; Take a RIGHT onto the driveway at mile marker 12.00.&nbsp;Follow the gravel driveway up about ¼ mile to the tan barn to unload.

We will be providing transportation to and from the venue.

Please be at the Sheraton Hotel located at&nbsp;625 El Camino Real, Palo Alto NO LATER THAN 3:20 PM. Busses will leave promptly at 3:30pm.&nbsp;





















Anyone who arrives at the hotel&nbsp;after 3:30pm will&nbsp;need to either drive,&nbsp;Uber or Taxi to venue.&nbsp;Please be aware it takes about 35-40&nbsp;minutes to get to the venue from the hotel.















 For those who would like to drive to the hotel to leave their car, please note there is a small fee of $1.00 for the first hour and goes up to $2.00/hour after that&nbsp;with a max charge of $20.00. 





















We highly discourage anyone who plans to have one drink and&nbsp;drive. The road going to the venue is very windy and dark at night. We want everyone to be responsible and have a ton of&nbsp;fun!





















If you do choose to drive there is&nbsp;plenty of parking at the venue, please allow yourself at least 40&nbsp;minutes from the hotel&nbsp;to get there.&nbsp;





















If needed, you are also more than welcome to&nbsp;leave your car overnight on the property&nbsp;(it is a very safe area).&nbsp;Sorry, no overnight guest are able&nbsp;to sleep at the venue.&nbsp;





















You are more than welcome to Uber or taxi&nbsp;from the venue back to the hotel, but please be aware that it is VERY&nbsp;difficult to get an Uber or Taxi. Please make sure you use the venue&nbsp;address and not your phone location especially at the barn. If you use your phone location it&nbsp;directs the drivers to the neighbors property with no access to the venue.&nbsp;



If you choose to leave your car at the venue, please plan on taking the provided transportation back.

The Stanford Dish loop is a popular route for Stanford University students as well as Silicon Valley professionals. The area is named after the large radio telescope that can not be missed. Its steep paved trail is suitable for running, walking, and hiking. Bicycles are not allowed.

 

The Stanford Dish area is open to recreational visitors the following hours:&nbsp;September:&nbsp;6:30 am - 7:00 pm *

* The schedule is adjusted monthly to closely match actual&nbsp;SUNRISE&nbsp;and&nbsp;SUNSET&nbsp;times.
