Our Story

Our story began before it really began. Though we knew of each other through sharing many mutual friends, we had never been close. On July 7th, 2018, Tom reached out to Laurel, by sliding into her DM’s and inviting her to coffee, to which she replied in true Laurel fashion: “Are you…okay?”. It would be a few years later before Laurel would take him up on the invitation...sliding back into his DM’s to ask if the offer still stood.

On January 1st, 2022 they’d share a table at one of the few open coffee spots in town, in their eagerness to share time together, they were both oblivious to the fact that most businesses are closed in observance of New Years Day. The conversation flowed easily, with minimal akward moments or finding trouble to make small talk, they both dove in and before they knew it, to their disappointment they were closing down the coffeehouse after just a few hours.

A subsequent date included a scrabble game and they ended in a tie, but from that very first date, it was clear to both of them that they’d met their match. To really put things to the test, a couple months later, Laurel invited Tom on a road trip knowing that 24 hours straight in a car, with minimal sleep (and nowhere else to run) would end up bringing out the best or worst of themselves and to date, it was one of the best trips they’d ever had. The ease with which they fit into each others lives and understanding they have for one another, made it feel as though they were the piece that each were missing all along…and finally, together, was a sense of coming home.

Now, they share a love that fills them with such gratitude, with respect, compassion, and kindness. When one thinks of the other, they feel truly lucky and appreciative of their partner. It is a relationship that they value and a love that they hope to share with those who also hold special places in their hearts. Please join them for their special day.
