It was Christmas Eve, 2019. Chris was at his sister's house perusing through his "numerous" dating options when he saw Lauren on Coffee Meets Bagel and decided to swipe. Lauren was wrapping Christmas presents until she received the notification that Chris swiped on her and decided to accept his request.

The two started talking and immediately clicked. Fun conversations commenced and the chemistry was palpable. Plans were made for a first date on New Years Eve.

Lauren got ready at her best friend Kat's house to meet with Chris at Cutwater Spirits to grab appetizers and a drink. Chris planned to initially meet Lauren at 85 Degree Bakery to get some coffee prior to starting off their NYE date.

Unbeknownst to him, Lauren's other best friend Lily was sitting three tables down along with some of their college friends who also attended the NYE party. Chris did not realize that Lauren was preparing an escape if the date did not go as planned.

After Cutwater Spirits, Chris took Lauren to Himitsu where she tried her first uni and the rest was history! Lauren and Chris danced the night away at 32 North & Brewing Co until... Chris asked to see Lauren the next day.

Chris collaborated with his sister Kat on proposal ideas. The goal was to surprise Lauren with something memorable. After months of discussions and creative ideas, the plan was set in place. Kat and Lucas would to arrange a Christmas family photoshoot at Sugar Sweet Farm with Chris & Lauren tagging along.

The day of the proposal, Lauren and Chris attended a birthday party and rushed to get ready to go to Sugar Sweet Farm. Unfortunately, Kat, Luc and the kiddos couldn't make it but Chris had an idea of having Luc handing him the ring and having the kiddos ask Lauren to be part of our family. Chris ended up pivoting and had to take the ring out of the box and hide it in his pocket.

Prior to the photoshoot, Lauren, Chris, and his parents had an opportunity to have an intimate tour to play with the animals at Sugar Sweet Farm.

Chris' parents did not realize the proposal was happening that they were shocked when Lauren ran to show them the ring. After the proposal, two llamas Butterfly and Fabio dressed in garland came out to greet Lauren and Chris. It was just awesome just hearing the rest of the animals (goats and lambs) watching against the gate and creating noise of celebration.
