WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

For the wedding there is a smart/formal/cocktail dress code - wear your absolute best, we are going all out so dress to the occasion. Kilts are encouraged. Think summery, colourful and formal attire.

For non-wedding days, feel free to wear what makes you feel most comfortable, around the lodge. April is Autumn in South Africa so chilly mornings and evenings but hot days. We suggest bringing layers to combat this. Please wear neutral, bush colour on game drive (no neons) and closed shoes are essential.

WHAT TO BRING?

Snacks (if you are a snacker), swimming costume & floaties, wedding party outfit, a good attitude, closed shoes for all bush occasions but flip flops for around camp, hats & sunglasses & suncream.

DO I NEED VACCINATIONS, ANTIMALARIALS OR OTHER MEDICATION?

There are no vaccinations required however, we are

in a low-risk malaria area and we recommend you

consult with your physician before travel. Otherwise reach out to Lauren personally to ask about her experience.

IS SOUTH AFRICA SAFE?

Yes as safe as anywhere these days. Always be vigilant and avoid flashing valuables but for those travelling from abroad, we recommend you fly to Johannesburg's OR Tambo airport and take a short domestic flight to Hoedspruit without leaving the airport. We will assist with helping you book.

Hoedspruit is the gateway to the Kruger National Park and is very safe. We are a 40 mins drive from Hoedspruit which has restaurants, bars, ATMs, grocery shops, medical facilities and more. For those wanting to stay on after the wedding in this area, there is tons to do. Hoedspruit is very family-friendly and famous for hiking, white-water rafting, wildlife and nature experiences. It is one of the most stunning areas of South Africa.

IS THE LODGE CHILD-FRIENDLY?

We are having a child-friendly wedding however, it must be noted only children over 6 years old are allowed on game drives. Children under 6 years old can stay at the lodge and we can hire nannies and baby-sitters as needed. Both properties have swimming pools which will keep the kids happy for days. Both properties are fenced.
