Our story is truly one shaped by the digital age. As with most of the NYC jewish 20-somethings, jdate was where you went to meet new potential dates. In January 2015, Josh came across the profile of a gorgeous girl who seemed smart, fun, and independent, and couldn't help himself but to message her. The email mentioned a photo Lauren had of herself and Rocky (the Denver Nuggets Mascot) sitting at a restaurant, which Josh admitted later that he had to google the Mascot name in order to ensure he had it right. After a number of back-and-forth messages, we decided to setup a date on a Friday night (February 20th). Not knowing Lauren didn't like wine, Josh, of course, suggested a wine bar. Date night arrived and we each had no idea that our lives were about to change forever. After a few glasses of whatever beer the bar had and a few appetizers, we each knew there was something special about the other. Everything was easy and comfortable...just perfect. The date ended with our first kiss at the Union Sq subway station. To this day we debate about who actually kissed whom...we are petitioning the MTA for the surveillance video so as to review the tape and put an end to it once and for all. Our first date turned into a second (the following Thursday) and the second turned into a third. It was during our third date that we each knew...we had found someone special. From then on, we wanted to spend as much time together as possible.
