Lauren and I met at a wonderful little dive bar called the Underground down on Hermosa Pier. Honestly, the chances of us meeting when thinking about it seem slim to none. First off, Kevin Riley and I almost got into a brutal car accident on the way down. Secondly, Jade was due that weekend, but was kind enough to let me go down to Orange County for the Bemoll's engagement party. Next, there was a huge brawl in front of the bar that almost kept us from being allowed in to the bar. And lastly, I was dumb enough to tell one of my friends to initially go talk to Lauren…fortunately for me, he chickened out. This may seem corny, but Lauren absolutely glowed in that bar. I remember seeing her amongst the sea of people and saying to myself "Wow, that girl is gorgeous!" It's simple to say our conversation started over a game of pool…I asked if she and her friends were playing and she said "no"…I was in! (great icebreaker, I know…) After a few games of pool, our group of friends chatted over a few pitchers of beer and eventually made the walk to get some late night tacos. This is where the night gets interesting… Mid-tacos, my friends decided it was time to leave, and they drunkenly stumbled out of the taqueria. Mind you, I had never been to this part of LA before and frantically chased out after them. Once I was in the car I realized I HAD FORGOTTEN TO ASK FOR LAUREN'S NUMBER!! As we got back to the place, I couldn't get this beautiful blonde out of my head. All I knew about her from a personal side was her name was Lauren and she played water polo at LMU. So after about 2 hours of searching the depths of the Internet, I found Lauren on Facebook. I sent her a message, fingers crossed she would respond and not think I was a crazy stalker. Fortunately for me, she responded a few days later, and the rest is history :)

How We Met...Garry's Version

How we met can only be described as fate. It was a typical Friday night, and Kaitlin (my MOH), Kara (our friend from grade school) and I decided to go out to our usual spot, Hermosa Pier. When we got there, however, the bars we normally went to were too crowded so we decided to try a place we'd only been to once or twice before, the Underground. We were enjoying our beers and hanging out near the pool tables, when a tall, dark &amp; handsome guy approached and threw out his suave opening line: "You guys playing pool?" I told him we were not, but somehow a conversation started from there anyway. Our groups of friends were introduced, three of us and three of them, and we all hit it off! ...Kind of ;) After lots of conversation and enjoying a few beers together, we decided it was time for some late night grub and walked over to Los Muchachos. On the walk over, Kaitlin and Garry got into a somewhat heated discussion about football and water polo--let's just say Kaitlin wasn't Garry's #1 fan right away. Nevertheless, Garry and I continued getting to know each other over tacos and I found myself liking this tall, engaging, smart, handsome guy from NorCal more and more, when all of a sudden he bolted out of the taqueria. I was confused, but shrugged it off--after all, he lived in the Bay Area so I'd probably never see or hear from him again. Now it's important to note that at this point in time, I was still choosing to live in the dark ages and didn't have a smart phone or Internet at home. So on Monday morning at work, I checked Facebook and was surprised to see a message from Garry. I had no idea how he found me, but I was happy he did. And every day since, I have been even happier :)

What can't I say about this guy? The friendship first started on the field and eventually grew to being close friends and roommates during our time at school. After college we had some even better times together. From near death experiences in Tahoe, surviving Bay-2 Breakers, and drinking our fill in Anderson Valley, there's really not a dull moment with this guy around. I can't wait to have you by my side, and thanks for everything. Love yah bro!

Kaitlin Hobbs (Maid of Honor)

Lauren and Kaitlin have been friends since they met in Kindergarten (23 whole years!). Some of their favorite shared interests over the years have included Beanie Babies, the Spice Girls, sleepovers, N*SYNC, late night frozen pizza, the Dixie Chicks, and writing letters in pig latin back and forth to each other. Fun fact about Kaitlin: she has been an Irish dancer for 8 years (hint: if you ask nicely and give her a drink, she might even do a little jig at the reception!)

Kevin Riley

Kevin and I met freshmen year of college at Cal. The first time I met him I wanted to kick his ass (that's usually how good friendships start.) Luckily we moved past it and became great friends through our college years. Kevin is the life of any party! If you're ever in need of somebody to start up the dance floor, or put a smile on your face, Kev is your guy! Im incredibly lucky to have a friend like Kev and I can't wait to have you up there with me!

Carrie Kosnik

Carrie and Lauren met as freshmen at LMU playing water polo together. Between sharing the pool, the same class schedule, countless weekend trips, and various places they've lived (even a room for awhile!), they've been inseparable for most of the last decade. Fun fact: Chef Carrie is a pro in the kitchen!

Kristen Lutjen 

Kristen and Lauren met as freshman athletes at LMU, where Kristen was a swimmer and Lauren played water polo. In addition to sharing a locker room and the LMU pool, over the past 10 years of their friendship Kristen and Lauren have been to Vegas together with their group of friends more times than they can count. Fun fact: Kristen has an adorable black Lab name Nala that goes with her on all her awesome outdoor adventures in Portland where she lives!

Derek Asbun

Derek has been a great friend and roommate from my years at Cal. He was one hell of a rugby player in college and that blossomed into an amazing post college career.I couldn't have been more lucky to have Derek as a friend over these past 10 years. Derek is the most caring and loyal friends you could ask for. Even from the other side of the world Derek made a point to stay in contact, and I couldn't be more grateful!

Kaitlyn Garcia

Kaitlyn and Lauren met as coworkers at VSCpr in San Francisco three years ago. They quickly became close friends, sharing their mutual love for animals, cheese, wine, funny goat videos and brunch. Fun fact: Kaitlyn is a running machine, and completed the Nike women's half marathon in SF last year!

Kevin Bemoll

Kevin and I probably met around my second year at Cal. Initially I was intimidated by this big guy, but come to find out he was a big softy. He has a large personality, and a very caring heart. I feel so lucky to have met this guy. From watching Fireproof on your tiny couches in PH, or getting Swirly at Aqui's, I've truly enjoyed every moment with this guy. Can't wait to have you up there with me! P.S. He recently became a father to a beautiful daughter and she couldn't be luckier to have this guy as a dad.

James Lawson

James and I met our first day of high school, and have been friends ever since! James is one of my oldest friends and I am blessed to have him in my life. He has always been with me through thick and thin. From summertime boating, to riding around in the truck tp'ing houses, or working on the spider monkey, James will always have a special place in my heart. Love you bro!

Franco (Ring Bearer)

So excited to have my nephew (a.k.a. Batman) in charge of the rings on the big day! Franco was born on the day "Tia" Lauren and I met, and will always have a special place in our hearts!

Bridget (Flower Girl)

We're so excited to have my cousin Bridget as our beautiful flower girl! At the age of 5 she is already an expert at this very important job, having been the flower girl at my cousin Kristen's wedding 2 years ago. Love you, Bridget--you're going to steal the show! :)

We have a limited block of rooms available at Peach Tree Inn. Located 4.5 miles from the venue (about 12 minutes by car), and Uber is easily available. There's even a trolley that picks up right in front of the hotel and takes you into downtown! Call and say you're with the Graffort/Barlow wedding or go online and type in code "grafbarW" for the room block + special rate.

Seriously, it's so easy to call Uber or a cab in SLO and the venue is super close to all hotels in the area, so there's no need to drive! Cars can also be left overnight at the venue, so if you would like to drive your car there and leave it, that's fine. But no need to drive home after you've partied your face off--just take Uber or a cab home and your car will be there the next morning when you come back the next day to keep celebrating :)

It is open most days of the week and a great farm animal experience for the little ones! This is one of our favorite places in the area.
