They met on Hinge (a dating app) in January of 2021. Lauren had just moved to Austin two weeks before, after taking a new job there. Nick liked a photo of Lauren’s and to be honest, Lauren was not that impressed with his dating profile. However, she figured she would give him a shot even though he had never read the seventh Harry Potter book. They met at Zilker park for their first date, and ate Franklin BBQ. The date ended with Lauren telling Nick that the color burnt orange sucked and then walked away without giving him a hug. A week later, they went on a second date to see a Buddhist temple and get burgers from Oasis Brewing. The rest is history.
