Have you ever heard of the game Wii Party? I hadn't back in 2019, but it's the very thing that got me to a mutual friend's dorm, to play said game. And there Kevin was. Flash forward through a few months of texting and talking and trivia nights. And now, forcing people to go to an event that they generally wouldn't care about to listen to music they maybe don't like isn't usually something I like to do, but a whispered asking out after that country concert made it all worth it. (And he likes country music now, don't worry). Baseball jerseys and Moe's. The town of Clemson, SC doesn't offer much in the terms of "date spots" but I'd say this one was pretty perfect. 5 years may not be a long time in the span of a lifetime but it was enough. Enough to share countless New Music Fridays and 9 am tee times. Enough to have graduated from the University that brought us together (Go Tigers). Enough to establish our lives in two different cities and then convince Kevin to come share in the life I had built (Welcome to Greenville). And enough to convince us that forever sounded a whole lot better. I'm a girl who loves cool buildings. I work in architecture, so obviously. But I love cool buildings and especially cool hotels. When you see an old train station has been converted into a hotel and it's only 3 hours from where you live, in my world, you go. And you let your boyfriend steal the entire trip you thought you had planned to propose overlooking a waterfall with all of your family present. And then you cry (a lot) because you couldn't have imagined a better start to forever with your best friend. To Kevin: I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you and I'm sorry for asking you when you were going to propose the day before you proposed.
