Our Wedding

The bride and groom first met in January 2018 when they matched on tinder and Chris drove from Burns Lake to Prince George to take Lauren out for dinner at Earls. Pretty quickly Chris was spending his days off in Prince George. The bride finally came out to see the grooms home in Grassy Plains a couple of months later, having never been to the area before. Although the groom was currently sleeping on bunk beds with his daughter in his parents house (having just graduated from university), he managed to impress the bride with the house next door that he was planning to fix up. Lauren and Chris stayed in the old farmhouse and Chris cooked Lauren chicken alfredo on the stove top as that was all that worked in the kitchen. The bride and groom now live in that old farmhouse and have made many changes to the little old place to make it home. Fast forward, Lauren moved out to the ranch in the spring of 2019 and put an end to the long distance relationship. Over the last few years the bride and groom have welcomed and said goodbye to their sweet pups Kase and Asher. Chris and Lauren now live happily with their daughter/step-daughter Darci who is 9 years old, dog Ryder, cat Jim, horse Spirit, hundreds of cows, their chickens and have recently welcomed their son Ford into the world in November 2021.

The bride is incredibly luckily to have her twin sister stand by her side as Maid of honour. Lauren and Kendall grew up very close to each other. Sharing friends, teachers, vehicles and jobs. Kendall still lives in Calgary. Kendall would be considered more of a city mouse in comparison to the bride, a country mouse.

Another very important person on the brides side includes the grooms younger sister Lauren (imagine that, the groom managed to find a wife with the same name as his sister). The groom sure is lucky to have two Lauren's in his life. 

Lauren Solecki

The bride has known Jaeden since they were in kindergarten together. Jaeden was actually in the same kindergarten class as the brides sister Kendall and the two of them would pretend they were the twins instead of the bride and Kendall. 
Since Kindergarten Lauren and Jaeden went to school together and graduated high school together. Jaeden is a life long friend who has always remained in touch no matter where Lauren lived and has always been a good friend. 
Jaeden still lives in Calgary. 

Jaeden Blewett

The bride and Kelly are childhood friends. The bride first met Kelly when they moved in next door as kids and grew up together as neighbours. Kelly and Lauren went through their teenage years together and have been close friends since.

Kelly Poffenroth

The bride and Sam first met in Prince George when they worked together at a local Indigenous agency providing supervised visitation for families with children in foster care. 
The bride and Sam soon became best friends and spent almost everyday together before the bride moved to Burns Lake. Sam will even sometimes visit the bride at the farm, even though the trip always ends in chaos when her dogs get into something they aren’t supposed to. Although Sam and Lauren are total opposites, they have remained close friends and both wishes the other lived closer. 

Samantha Bray

Poor Owen grew up the younger brother to Chris. Chris may not have been the kindest older brother to Owen, but Owen did survive the countless bike crashes and other misadventures that Chris put him through (though he may have lost a few brain cells in the process). Owen is a tougher man for it. Owen and Chris bonded together through hockey, working out, and working on the ranch as they grew up together. Chris hopes that one day his younger brother will return to the ranch so they can run it together with their families.

Matt (Chris' older brother) was likely not the biggest fan of Chris when they were kids. Chris had a knack for getting under the skin of his older brother. Chris was always stealing Matts things, and most often his mountain bike (because Matts bike was way cooler than Chris's). As they grew up, Matt and Chris have become good friends and are very important people in each others lives.

Matthew Solecki

Taylor and Chris first became friends playing hockey together as kids. As they got older, Chris spent many days after school at the Spankies house hanging out with Taylor before hockey practice and became an honorary member of the family. Though they now live far apart, they maintain a close friendship and always pick up right where they left off.

Kwynn and Chris met during their time at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops. They were both in the Bachelors of Natural Resource Science program and became good friends at school. After graduating, and when Kwynns job was shut down for a few weeks due to the Coronavirus, Kwynn came up to the ranch to visit for a week. That week turned into 8 months as Kwynn decided to stay and work on the ranch for the summer time which further built their friendship. Kwynn has not missed a branding since attending for the first time 5 years ago. 

Kwynn Bodman

Chris and Nick met in Kelowna when they both attended a hockey academy there. They lived just down the street from each other for the year they lived there and spent most days after school and hockey hanging out, skateboarding, biking, and building snow forts. After their time at the hockey academy Chris and Nick continued to visit each over the years and have had some great times together.  They are both groomsmen in each others wedding parties and maintain a close friendship.

Nick Slater

Luella is the daughter of Taylor who is one of the groomsmen. She is 4 years old. Her father and the groom have known each other since they were young kids & the bride and groom are happy to have Taylor and his daughter apart of their special day. 

Luella Spanki

Darci, worlds greatest daughter to the groom and step-daughter to the bride. Lauren got two for the price of one when it came to marrying Chris. Having Darci apart of their lives has been nothing short of amazing. Darci is adventurous, kind, passionate and a ray of light in everyone's lives. She is a special part of the wedding party as Lauren and Chris unite their families together.
