A Moroccan hammam is a traditional steam bath and spa experience that originated in ancient Morocco. It's an integral part of Moroccan culture and a popular tourist activity. Here's what you can expect:

1. Steam room: A warm, humid environment where you'll sweat and relax.

2. Exfoliation: A hammam attendant (kessa) will scrub your skin with a coarse glove (kessa glove) to remove dead skin cells.

3. Massage: Optional, but recommended for ultimate relaxation.

4. Cleansing: A thorough wash with black soap, rhassoul clay, or other natural products.

5. Relaxation: Unwind in a peaceful atmosphere, often with tea and conversation.

Hammams typically follow this process:

1. Steam room (15-30 minutes)

2. Exfoliation and massage (30-60 minutes)

3. Cleansing and rinsing

4. Relaxation and tea

Moroccan hammams offer numerous benefits:

· Deep cleansing and exfoliation

· Relaxation and stress relief

· Improved skin health

· Social experience (many hammams are communal)

· Cultural immersion
