Greyson & Lauren met in September of 2022 at Woodlands Camp. Lauren had just begun her residency on the NEXT team at Woodlands, and Greyson had begun his Junior year at Anderson University. In the fall, Woodlands holds retreats each weekend - which Greyson came to volunteer for periodically. Greyson volunteered one weekend in September and when he arrived, was introduced to the new NEXT team while they were prepping in the kitchen for a group to arrive. That is when Greyson was introduced to Lauren, and their story began.

Lauren found herself looking forward to each weekend in hopes that Grey would be volunteering again. Each time he volunteered at camp, there were opportunities where he would get to talk to Lauren and check up on how things were going. Though their friendship grew slowly, and conversations were few and far between, it all paid off in the end - or rather, the beginning.

Throughout the winter and spring, things stayed very busy. Lauren began working full-time at Woodlands and Grey was continuing his education at Anderson.

Grey finished up his Junior year, and then traveled to Woodlands to begin his 3rd time serving on summer staff - this time as Freestyle Head Counselor.

Lauren was living in Cleveland GA, preparing for her first summer at Woodlands as Retail Manager.

Both were learning very busy roles and putting their all into it during that summer. While they were in the same place sometimes, there was not much time for more than a friendly "hello" when their paths crossed.

As fall of 2023 began, Lauren moved back to south GA to live with her family and Greyson returned to SC to begin his Senior year at Anderson University. Some time passed, but at the end of October, Greyson decided to reach out to Lauren, and check up on her just like he used to.

Its an understatement to say Lauren was excited to hear from him. They caught up, and then caught up more, and then it turned into a full fledged 12 hour text conversation. They have texted everyday since ;)

So much for "catching up".

Grey and Lauren went on their first date in November - A date planned by Greyson full of all the things he knew Lauren would love to do. Over the next few months, Grey and Lauren fell more and more in love, never wanting to be without the other.

Which brings us to now. On August 17th, Greyson took Lauren to a bench swing by the waterfall & bridge in Greenville, SC - where they had their first date, and first conversation about what their future would look like.

Getting down on one knee, Greyson proposed and asked Lauren to marry him. Obviously that went right because you are currently on our wedding website reading this story.

Now with their families, Lauren & Greyson are excitedly planning their wedding celebration to share with all of their family, friends and loved ones.

They look forward to their life in love together and all that is to come.
