Brock and Lauren’s love story had a common 21st century beginning… a swipe on a dating app. It was the summer of 2024 and a mutual match on Hinge started it all, both agreeing that a porch swing was a dream house must-have item. 1st Date: July 14th, 2024: The “Ice Cream Factory” in Greensboro, NC. They got to know each other over delicious ice cream and played the game Trouble. They said each other’s smiles caught their eye on that date. A smile and a spark were the start of many dates to come. 2nd Date: July 23rd, 2024: Brock had to see if Lauren brought any golfing skills to the table. They had a fun competitive round of putt putt at ParTee Shack in Greensboro, NC. Lauren won and to this day Brock says he let her win! 3rd Date: July 30th, 2024: Brock and Lauren shared dinner at Old Town Draught in Greensboro, NC with dessert at YumYum Ice Cream shop. To this day, we have decided this is one of the better ice cream establishments. Brock and Lauren went on many more dates, growing and learning about each other with each one. Brock shared his love of golf by taking Lauren to the driving range and a 9-hole round of golf where they had the best time together. Lauren shared her love of cooking with lots of homemade date meals. On Labor Day 2024, Brock and Lauren hiked the trail at Hanging Rock State Park and it was on top of the mountain where Brock asked Lauren to be his girlfriend and their dating story officially began! Our sports loyalty was tested on our 10th date on September 7, 2024. Brock got tickets to the NC State vs Tennessee football game in Charlotte, NC. A state fan and a Tennessee fan went to the game dressed in their teams’ colors and had so much fun with each other! It was during this game that Lauren knew she would forever bleed red, but Tennessee orange would happily be in her future wardrobe rotation too. Lauren still doesn’t know all the words to “Rocky Top”! With each passing date and time spent together, Brock and Lauren’s love for each other grew deeper. So much of their love shaped by their love for the Lord, knowing the importance of family, and cherishing the tiny details and moments of this given time on earth. The week of our one-year dating anniversary, Brock and Lauren went to Myrtle Beach, SC with Brock’s family. It was a fun filled week making lots of memories, little did Lauren know it would include the greatest surprise of her life. On July 18th, 2025, the evening started with dinner out at a local burger joint and ended with group pictures out on the beach at sunset. Brock’s sister Misti loved taking pictures, so Lauren didn’t think anything out of the ordinary with the photoshoot session. Misti asked Brock and Lauren to stand together down by the water, she took their picture and as Lauren stepped forward to look at the picture on Misti’s phone; Brock slipped behind Lauren and got down on one knee. When Lauren turned around, she was completely shocked in the best way. Brock took Lauren by the hand; said that the past year had been the greatest year of his life and asked Lauren to spend forever with him. With the biggest smile and happy tears rolling down her cheeks, Lauren said the easiest YES of her life! Brock and Lauren are so excited for their next chapter as husband and wife. Through every high and every low, they will choose each other and build a beautiful life together. Many years from now you will find them enjoying time with the beautiful family they have made, holding hands together on their front porch swing. The Lord has blessed them, and they can’t wait to celebrate their Wedding Day with all their family and friends!
