We met in February of 2020 when Henry (best man) and Ana (officiant) invited each of us to a gathering at Henry’s house. After meeting for the first time Michael was interested, but Lauren wasn’t quite convinced.
Fast forward to August 2020 when we serendipitously ended up in the same place at the same time. We bumped into each other at gasworks park but this time, the interest was mutual. With some help from Henry and Ana, we saw each other again at a tie-dye party. The sparks really flew and we started dating in September 2020. With most of the world shut down, we had plenty of time to spend together.
On one of our favorite first dates, we took a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island. Little did we know this would later become the inspiration for our wedding venue.
We have spent the last three years enjoying life together in Seattle with our cat Betsy. In that time we have gotten to know each other's families, traveled, changed careers, moved in, converted each other into Deadheads and Swifties, and decided that life is way better together.
On Easter 2023 (Lauren’s second favorite holiday, behind Christmas obviously) Michael surprised Lauren with a special Easter egg with an engagement ring inside. Both of our families were there to enjoy the moment. We can’t wait to celebrate our love and marriage with all our friends and family this coming spring.
