Q&A

Important Travel Requirements

Effective January 8, 2025, all U.S. citizens transiting through or traveling to the United Kingdom for 6 months or less will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to travel. The application can be done online, and authorization is usually granted within three business days. Learn more and apply at UKETA.com.

Passports

Don't forget your passport! Please double check to make sure your passport does not expire before January 2026, as you will not be able to travel internationally if your passport is set to expire within 6 months of your arrival date. Your passport may take up to 3 months to arrive, so please plan ahead! Passport information can be found here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html

When should I arrive?

Our wedding festivities will kick off on Wednesday, June 18th. We encourage those traveling in to arrive on June 17th.

Any travel tips?

Please visit our travel page for information on airports and the venue. As we get closer to the date, we will continue to update each page with travel recommendations. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to either Lauren or Kieron!

Wedding Transportation

Please see our travel page for any information on transportation options near hotels. For any event off-site, Lauren and Kieron will communicate transportation plans ahead of time.

How can I book my flight?

We recommend using the Google Flight search function to search for flight options, then booking directly through the airline. Check for flights from all large airports near you to make sure you are getting a good deal. For family along the gulf coast, we recommend searching for flights from New Orleans, Pensacola, and Atlanta.

What is the dress code and attire?

Traditional Indian attire is encouraged! We would love to see you embrace the cultural spirit of the event. Women are encouraged to wear traditional Indian outfits such as sarees, lehengas, or salwar kameez. These vibrant and elegant garments will add to the festive atmosphere. Indian weddings are known for their bright colors. Feel free to wear bold colors like red, pink, yellow, green, or blue. Avoid plain white or black, as these colors are generally associated with mourning in Indian culture. Men are welcome to wear traditional Indian outfits like a kurta-pajama or a sherwani. Alternatively, semi-formal Western attire such as dress shirts and slacks is acceptable.

Where can I purchase Indian-wear?

There are websites that sell Indian outfits at various price points. These include: - Kalki Fashion (www.kalkifashion.com/) - Mirraw (www.mirraw.com/) - Lashkaraa (www.lashkaraa.com/)

I have a different question, who can I ask?

Please feel free to reach out directly to Lauren or Kieron! We know international travel can be complicated and are here to help in any way we can.
