Mikes version....We met at Club O in Jacksonville Beach, FL. I was out with "my bros" ready to hop on the Bang Bus and go party, so I put on my nice polo shirt with my fedora and headed out to the beach. The bros and I walked in the crappiest club there at the time (Club O) just to start off. I wasn't really excited about being there until I walked in the door. There I saw it, the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, more beautiful than a unicorn being ridden my Margot Robbie- you know who i'm talking about guys, and for the ladies reading this, just picture riding a Channing Tatum centaur, that's how pretty it was. I saw Lauren's beautiful face through the cigarette smoke and crappy rays of disco lights, so I went up to her and spit game with my fedora on, and it was love at first sight.
So here's my version...
Summer 2011 I went to the grand opening of Club O out at Jax Beach. I was introduced to this guy who thought he was so cool trying to "spit game." He was wearing a fedora and a skinny tie, and I couldn't help but think "Really?!?!? A fedora?? Come on!" (Ill never let him live his fashion choices down.) At first I was totally not interested until a few weeks later while at a party, I saw him again. He claims he saved my life that night by bandaging my bleeding finger, but really all he did was steal my heart. Barf! We went on our first date to St Augustine about a month later. We had the best time, drank, joined a ghost tour, walked out on a tab, dinner and there was even a pair of bubba teeth thrown in at some point. :) We have been inseparable ever since.... <3After the stressful weeks of home buying, Michael surprised me with a date night. I got off work and headed home to find him waiting with our motorcycle jackets. We rode all the way down to riverside and had dinner at one of our favorite places, Sushi Café (just like we used to do when we first started dating.) He then took me to Starbucks to grab a coffee while we walked around Memorial park to our secret spot by the river. We sat down on the riverbank and just talked and laughed and carried on reminiscing about all the fun we've had over the years.
He suggested we walk around a bit more before we headed home so we stood up and he pulled me in close. He had to throw in some sort of reminder of the fact that he never really asked me to be his girlfriend in the first place, so it went something like this... (inside joke)
Mike- "And to think after all this time you haven't even been my girl friend."
Me- "Well ask me to be your girlfriend right now!"
We are in the perfect moment by the way. Romantic sunset by the river, our favorite spot where we have so many memories, reminiscing about everything so he gets down on one knee and says "I don't want you to be my girlfriend, I want you to be my wife!" The most perfect it could have possibly been. oh and of course I said "YES!"
