Maxwell Gessert, A.K.A. Maxwellington, The young man who made Lauren a momma.
He wrote the following...
"My name is Maxwell R. Gessert, I am a 5th year Nuclear Engineer, with a minor in Engineering Management, Mathematics, and Physics at Missouri University of Science and Technology. On campus, I am an active member of the Beta Sigma Psi, a National Lutheran Fraternity, and I am an Interfraternal Council alumni. Most of all, I am Lauren’s first born son. By the time you read this, I will be at my Co-op in Edwards, Illinois, near Peoria, working for Ameren in their natural gas operation center. This will be all in a continuation of my education in efforts to learn more about nuclear power and its great benefits. I also have goals to explore the research, national defense, medical, and space exploration side of my degree. Speaking of future plans, I have my lovely fiance,Cecelia, that I intend on marrying by the end of the year! Exciting times ahead of us! Speaking of exciting times, did you hear that my mom and Steven are getting married? I, for one, am a huge proponent of this union. Steven has been nothing but a supportive foundation and a force of reassurance in their relationship. He is a great friend and I am blessed to have the opportunity to stay up late talking about anything and everything, and watching Rick and Morty until 2am. This was actually all my idea. I told mom to say yes so that Steven and I could have endless sleepovers and eat pizza and cookies all night… I am thankful for a step-father such as him. Mom is just gonna have to learn to share."
Mason Gessert, A.K.A. MaeMae.
A note from MaeMae.
" My name is Mason Gessert. I am currently a sophomore at Truman State University, where I am majoring in Exercise Science, with a minor in psychology, studying to be a Doctor of Chiropractic. I am also the starting punter on the football team at Truman State. Growing up, I played all kinds of sports, baseball, soccer, track, and wrestling, but there is something about kicking a football really far that made me love it the most. I am the baby brother. There are only 2 of us, so you all could have guessed that. Being the youngest, I am, of course, the taller one and the stronger one. However, being the youngest, I do believe I carry the attitude and fire that made my mother realize that two boys were the perfect amount. When you read this, I will be in my summer off-season lifting and training for football. I will be training with my kicking coach in St. Louis. Working out and driving to Kirksville every now and then to be with the football team during the summer to lift with them.
My future plans consist of passing my classes and graduating college. Like a lot of young athletes, my ultimate dream is to punt at the professional level, but I have a backup plan, don’t worry. Like I said, I am studying to be a chiropractor. I love sports and helping people out, so what better way other than to be a chiropractor.
What an event coming up. I have been a part of weddings before, but this one feels different. Maybe because I am older and I will actually be able to comprehend what is happening, and of course, because it is my mother who is getting married. I am amazed by her continuous effort and commitment that she puts forth in her work and to Maxwell and I. For her to find someone as great as Steven is incredible. Steven is not only extremely hard working like my mother but also supportive. He supported me at football games and my other athletic events. Staying up late watching a movie or talking about how the pyramids were built. I am proud and blessed to call him my stepfather, and I am beyond proud of my mother for finding someone as great as her!"
