Our Wedding

Twelve years ago, two young students started their journey at Chico State. They moved into the dorms excited for what the future would hold. Little did they know that just down Shasta Hall, they would find the love of their lives. This is where their story begins.Lauren and Chris met early on at Chico and instantly became friends, although Chris had a crush on Lauren from day one. During their five years (Lauren took a victory lap), they spent time together at Chris’s fraternity, different Chico parties, the Wrec center, and of course their favorite bar, Riley's. When it came to the 4th year at Chico, they were hanging out so much that Lauren started questioning herself thinking she might like Chris more than a friend. This is when Lauren decided to make the first move and simply told Chris at one of his fraternity parties how she felt, and Chris was instantly all in! Lauren invited Chris to take a drive up to Butte Meadows in her old 1995 Honda Accord to play in the snow. This was their first date together. When they drove up there, Lauren ended up getting herself stuck in a ditch where Chris had to push her out. They laughed at the whole situation and this is where Lauren quickly learned how well Chris knew cars. They quickly fell for each other, never wanting to spend a minute apart. Chris finally asked Lauren, the night before Valentine’s Day, to be his girlfriend.Although they loved each other, they had their ups and downs as they both were trying to navigate graduating college, starting new careers, moving in together for the first time in Chris’s parents’ house, to then getting their first apartment together, adopting their first fur baby, Simba, and traveling to new places. At the end of 2019, they decided to part ways and work on themselves. During this time apart, Chris never stopped loving Lauren and decided to win her back. After a few months, they reconnected and started going on dates, realizing they both loved the people they had become while they were separated and were ready to be together again. They now look back and call this part of their relationship a “hiccup.”Ever since then, their relationship blossomed into a beautiful love story that is full of adventure, laughs, endless travel, weekends with friends and family, and most importantly, love! At the end of 2023, they adopted their second fur baby, Otto, into their family.Finally, Chris decided to ask Lauren to marry him during Memorial Day weekend at a beautiful winery surrounded by a few of her closest friends &amp; family. He surprised her with a trip out to the vineyard (which is very tough to do since Lauren is the biggest planner) and took her on a cute little walk down to a pond where he decided to get down on one knee. Lauren was overjoyed and yelled, 'YES!' These two lovebirds celebrated their engagement this year in Italy, and now they are ready to celebrate their wedding with their friends and family in October! We highly recommend booking your stay sooner than later as it is a smaller town and a very popular wedding weekend. AIRPORT RECOMMENDATIONS: The closest airport is SLO County Airport (SBP). It is about 50 minutes directly to our venue &amp; about 30 minutes to downtown Paso Robles. The next closest airport is San Jose International Airport (SJC).&nbsp;It is about a 2 and a half hour drive to our venue. The last airport we recommend is San Francisco International Airport (SFO). It is about a 3 hour drive to our venue.&nbsp;

This is an affordable hotel. I recommend booking through Expedia or a 3rd party vendor to get a good deal. They are also dog friendly if you happen to have your pup with you. They also offer a great free breakfast &amp; have a bar in the lobby. - 18min drive to our venue- Bar onsite- large breakfast buffet

The Oaks Hotel & Suites

We just recently stayed at this hotel and we highly recommend it as another option to stay at! It has a clean pool area to hang out at and a hot tub. They have a Starbucks that is walking distance from the hotel and a very cute Diner across from check in. The hotel offers a discount voucher for the Diner too. - 18 minutes from our venue- Can book for one night or the full weekend- Free onsite parking

Welcome Drinks!

Our wedding will be Semi Formal :) For the girls-&nbsp;think cocktail dresses. Can be whatever length you prefer. Dressy jump suits are also ok. When considering shoes, dinner will be held on a level gravel area but dancing/cocktail hour will be on cement. Men -&nbsp;Think sport coats, slacks, nice button up shirt, etc. We ask that you please refrain from wearing jeans and hats. Thank you!&nbsp; If you look your best, you will feel your best. If you want to be fancier, go for it. Its a special day to get dressed up! We just wanted to make sure the dress code was easily visible as we kept all details only on our website vs the actual invitation. Can't wait to see you there! :)

There is a "wine loop" as they call it in Paso Robles that takes you on a beautiful back country drive to a ton of different wineries. Below are just a few places that Chris &amp; I have personally been to but there are plenty of other options! Some places offer food as well. No reservations are needed. Take Green Valley Road off Highway 101 which will bring you along quite a few wineries. Make sure to then turn on Vineyard Drive to continue the loop around. Phone service out there is scarce so have your directions ready ahead of time . :) HAVE FUN!

Beautiful location to go wine tasting and enjoy a nice lunch out on their patio. This is the location that we first went to after touring our venue and while we were there we said yes to our October date! :)

Opolo Vineyards

Another pretty location to wine taste inside or outside. They also offer lunch and on a hot day they will have AC fans outside to make it comfortable.

Halter Ranch

Downtown Paso Robles was one of the big reasons Chris &amp; I chose this location to get married. We fell in love with how beautiful the park was at night. It's surrounded by many different restaurants, coffee shops, bars and a few boutiques. We loved walking around the area with our dog and it felt like we were in a real life Hallmark movie. We highly recommend checking this out Friday evening to see the lights and strolling around Saturday before our wedding. :)
