Lauren and Ethan were barely teens when Lauren's cousin Angie introduced them at her 30th birthday party and told Lauren she should date Ethan. Lauren had no interest in pursuing a boy dressed in a nerd Halloween costume, with underwear pulled over his head to give the illusion of a wedgie. From here a friendship blossomed. There was always some flirting and kissing, but never talk of seriously dating. Both sides thinking the other wasn't interested. AS the two got older, they grew apart but remained friends as adults often do. One day, Ethan decided to reach out and as the two talked, he admitted to Lauren that she was "the one who got away". Lauren feeling overwhelmed and flattered, didn't know what to do. She was taking time to make sure she was her best self, focusing on her career growth and motherhood. However, Ethan had always held a special place in her heart and she didn't want to let this opportunity go without checking it out first. The two continued to talk over the phone for a few weeks until Ethan came to town for his aunt Jen's birthday. He invited Lauren to come as well, catch up, and just hang out. Afterward, the two were able to find some time alone where Ethan also decided he wouldn't let this opportunity go again and told Lauren he was ready to date her seriously. A little shocked, Lauren asked, "right now?!" Luckily, Ethan is kind and understanding, and gave Lauren time to process. Good thing she only needed a few minutes. Lauren knew she had loved Ethan since she was 15 years old, and what's one more shot at love, right? They have been inseparable ever since, and shall remain that way.
