A. Travel Questions
1a. Where are the ceremony and reception locations?
Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors. The ceremony begins at 3pm ET at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart (101 Basilica Drive, Notre Dame, IN). Please plan to be seated inside by 2:45pm. The reception commences with cocktail hour at 5pm at Palais Royale (105 West Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN). Please use the brief gap in-between the ceremony and cocktail hour to check into your hotel and make your way to the venue.
2a. How do I get to the ceremony and reception?
You can drive your own car or fly into Chicago or South Bend. If you plan to drive, we recommend parking your car for the ceremony at Notre Dame and then ride-sharing/walking from your hotel to the reception (The DoubleTree and Aloft Hotels are less than a 5-minute walk from the reception venue).
If you are flying, the closest airports are the South Bend Airport (SBN) and Chicago-O’Hare (ORD) or Chicago-Midway (MDW). Flights into South Bend may be more expensive and/or difficult to obtain. If you are flying to Chicago, please be mindful that you will need to drive 2/2.5 hours to Notre Dame, and you will be changing time zones (going from Central to Eastern) in the process.
3a. What time zone is Notre Dame in?
Notre Dame rests in the Eastern Time Zone. For all of our loved ones on central time, please remember that you will change time zones when traveling from Chicagoland to Notre Dame. Please budget that into your travel plans!
4a. What about parking and hotels?
Please see the "Parking and Hotels" tab above for details!
B. During the Event Questions
1b. What time should I be seated at the ceremony?
Please be at the Basilica by 2:45pm EDT to avoid interrupting the grand procession. Guests who are not seated by 2:50pm will regretfully be withheld from entering the Basilica until the grand procession is complete.
2b. How do I livestream the wedding?
Please copy and paste the link below into your web browser to watch our ceremony livestream online. The livestream will begin 5-10 minutes before the wedding and will be removed immediately following.

3b. Can we take photos during the ceremony and reception?
No, not during the ceremony. Out of respect for the Basilica and the Sacrament, please shut off all phones during the ceremony and please do not take any pictures or videos.
However, during the reception you may take pictures. Please be mindful of the flash, however. We will share our pictures as soon as we receive them from our professional photographer.
4b. How does seating work?
At the Basilica, please sit on whichever side you would like. The first several rows will be reserved for family members of the bride and groom.
At the reception, there will be a seating chart, and you will be assigned a table for dinner.
5b. Will there be an open bar?
Yes, there will be an open bar at the reception! Cocktail hour kicks off at 5pm. From 6:30 - 7:00pm, the bar will briefly close so everyone can enjoy the grand entrance of the wedding party, prayer, a champagne toast, and dinner. The bar will re-open at 7:00pm and remain open until 10:30pm.
C. Guest-Related Questions
1c. What's the dress code?
Please wear cocktail attire. For men, this often entails a dark suit in navy, charcoal, or black paired with a dress shirt, tie, and polished leather shoes. Women's cocktail attire typically involves knee-length or midi dresses in elegant fabrics like silk, chiffon, or satin, often adorned with tasteful embellishments or intricate details.
We also politely ask that you avoid wearing colors traditionally reserved for the bride: whites, ivories, and creams. Lilac should also be avoided, as it may photograph as white.
2c. Can I bring a plus-one?
If you receive a plus-one, it will be explicitly noted on your invitation. For example, your invitation will note how many seats are reserved in your honor. When you go to RSVP, you will be able to see the exact number of people you may RSVP for. We can only accommodate the guests we have invited. Thank you.
3c. Are my kids invited?
No, we regretfully cannot accommodate children at our wedding due to limited numbers and space. This pertains to children of all ages, including infants, toddlers, and kids. If your child is invited to the ceremony/reception, it will be explicitly noted on your invitation. We can only accommodate the guests we have invited. Thank you.
4c. How do I RSVP?
Please reply using the RSVP tab on our wedding website by August 16th. Any RSVP not received by this date will be marked as a "No", as we need to send an accurate headcount to our vendors.
If you have already RSVP'ed and find out that you cannot make the wedding, please message Lauren at 815-600-2608 or Ethan at 908-418-4169.
