Well, Chris and I met at a local grocery store here in Spearfish. Somehow, in my tan, oversize uniform shirt and my black Safeway apron I caught Chris' eye. Long story short, we chatted here and there on random occasions and he finally mustered up the courage to ask me out on a date. He knew I preferred respectable men who dressed appropriately, so he decided to walk through my cashier line with his hat purposely on sideways JUST so I would say something. The minute I saw him, I laughed and told him to put that hat on straight! He then proceeded to ask me if I wanted to get coffee sometime. I said yes and he happily walked away. He then came through my line again and said "It might be hard to go to coffee if I don't have your number!" We laughed and I gave it to him. We ended up going out for supper at Lucky 13's and we sat and talked for 3 hours about anything and everything. We became great friends from that point on. After that, Chris would leave notes with sweet words or funny messages, chocolates, or free samples from the meat section (haha). A few months later he asked me to be his girlfriend! Neither of us knew that this was just the beginning of an exciting, wonderful journey together. The following years would bring many amazing memories together, full of laughs, camping, hunting, fishing trips, shoulders to cry on, homemade Kopriva meals, holidays, finishing college together with honors, growing together in every way possible, and loving each other through thick and thin.
~At Chris' 28th birthday party in the Black Hills, surrounded by our close friends and family, Chris got down on one knee and proposed. I said YES! Everyone knew he was going to propose that day but me. I am now engaged to my best friend, my love, and the man I want to share every moment, story, and laugh with. Cheers and here's to the years ahead!!
