Things to do in Charleston:

-Check out one of the several beaches in the Charleston area! Our favorite is Sullivan's Island.

-Knock out some Christmas shopping on King street

-Take a stroll through Rainbow Row and the Battery

-There is a farmer's market at Marion square on Saturday morning -- You can find coffee, breakfast/lunch, produce, and gifts!

-If you have time to stick around Sunday afternoon, be sure to check out Second Sunday on King street -- The street is closed to vehicles. You will find musicians, food, and great people watching, in addition to all of the shopping.

Where to eat:

- Our go to downtown restaurant: 167 raw. They don't take reservations so go early and expect to go have drinks somewhere while you wait. You have to try the pastrami swordfish sandwhich and the tuna burger.

- Other downtown favorites are: Xiao bao, Le Farfalle, Darling Oyster Bar, FIG, Indaco. There are too many great restaurants to list!

- If you are willing to venture out of downtown, be sure to try the Obstinate Daughter for amazing italian with a seafood flare on Sullivan's Island.

- For a casual breakfast/lunch, check out queen street grocery for crepes, sandwhiches, omelettes. Our favorite is the Murray crepe.

Where to drink:

There are so many great bars around Charleston! Here are some hot spots.

- Rooftop bars: Citrus Club at the Dewberry Hotel (best view in the city), The Vendue, Grand Bohemian Hotel

- Upscale bars for fun cocktails: The Belmont, Cocktail Club, Felix

- Casual spots: Blind Tiger, Revelry Brewing

- Late night party bars: Stars, Uptown Social, Prohibition
