Our Wedding

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;From cubicle neighbors to my fiancé, I wasn’t kidding when I said I’ve been “Jonesin’ for Wags” since the day I met him! Let me tell you, if you first meet a guy while&nbsp;you’re&nbsp;wearing Carhartt pants, steel toe boots, and no makeup, and he still wants to take you on a date, he’s a keeper!

 

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; We met while I was training for my new position at work in Atlanta,&nbsp;which landed me a cubicle next to Matthew. Matt will forever claim that asking me to join their after-work kickball team was him “making the first move.”&nbsp;Once I made it clear that&nbsp;kickball&nbsp;doesn’t count and a real date was in order, he pulled out all the stops. I knew I had found a good one when he showed up to my apartment with a bottle of wine instead of flowers that wouldn’t make it past the weekend in a vase in my apartment (no green thumb here!).&nbsp;





&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Soon after&nbsp;our&nbsp;first date, Matt was offered a position in Destin, Florida, which of course he couldn’t turn down. We both realized we would be a good thing and didn’t want something that was clearly going somewhere to come to an end so soon. We decided to give&nbsp;long distance a try. I’ve gotta say, if you have to&nbsp;be in&nbsp;a long distance relationship, traveling to the beach isn’t so bad! Matt’s two years in Destin made for some pretty memorable moments.





&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Fast fact: Turns out he’s better at surprises than he thinks! One of my favorite days of us was when we kayaked the Destin Harbor to Crab Island and back to Noriega Pointe where he had hidden a cooler with cheese and wine (our&nbsp;favorites!). Later that&nbsp;night, we had dinner reservations to one of our favorite spots and he dropped the “L word!” Cue all the feels!





&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Almost a year into the Atlanta to Destin weekend trips, I took a new position in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (War Eagle!).&nbsp;After&nbsp;two years, thousands of miles traveled, hundreds of hours in a car, and countless hours on FaceTime later (sorry for using all the data, Mr. Wagner!), Matthew packed up his things in Destin and moved to (land locked and missing any sort of waterfront access) Tuscaloosa so we could finally be in the same city again!





&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Fast forward two months, we took a weekend trip to Chattanooga where he pulled off the surprise of a lifetime! Seeing the love of your life get down on one knee to ask you to spend the rest of your life with him is such a feeling!! And to make it even better, he worked with a photographer to secretly capture the entire proposal! To top off&nbsp;the weekend, we came home to one more huge surprise...a driveway full of our family and friends to celebrate! This was a total shock to me and was one of the best days! What a way to begin this new season of life!





&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Now,&nbsp;the countdown is on to celebrating with even more of our loved ones in Birmingham on December 8th, 2018. We cannot wait to see everyone there and can’t thank everyone enough for showering us with love and support as we begin this journey as Mr. and Mrs. Wagner!
