Things To Do

We know a lot of you are traveling to Dallas for the first time, and we feel honored that you are coming to celebrate with us! If you aren’t familiar with Dallas, here are some of our favorite restaurants and activities to check out while you are here:

Activities

Museums

-Perot Museum of Nature and Science- interactive and hands on, super fun! If you are here on Thursday, we recommend their “Thursdays on Tap”- enjoy food trucks and grab a drink as you walk through the exhibits. This event often sells out so we recommend getting tickets ahead of time.

-Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza- explore the spot of JFK’s assassination and learn more about who did (or didn’t) do it

-Dallas Museum of Art

Other

-Katy Trail- take a walk along Katy Trail, we recommend walking down to Katy Trail Ice House and enjoying their patio. You can also walk all the way down to American Airlines Center to see where the Mavericks and Stars play

-The Arboretum - explore the beautiful gardens

-White Rock Lake- paddle boarding, kayaks, walking trails

-Dallas World Aquarium

-Dallas Zoo

Just A Bit Outside of Dallas

-Chicken N Pickle- Grand Prairie or Grapevine location - play some pickleball and enjoy food and drinks while you hang out

-Six Flags Over Texas- Arlington, Tx - Lauren worked here as a ride operator when home from college during the summer!

-AT&T Stadium - Arlington, Tx - aka “Jerry World” - they offer multiple tours a day to see where the Cowboys play

-Globe Life Field- Arlington, Tx - Enjoy the new indoor (aka air conditioned) baseball stadium as you watch the defending world champion, Texas Rangers. Series include Detroit, June 3rd-5th and San Francisco, June 7th-9th.

-Mesquite Rodeo - put on your best western wear and head to the rodeo to see bull riding, calf roping, and mutton bustin’

-Magnolia Silos - Waco, Tx - this one is a far drive (~1.5 hours), but worth it for anyone who is a big fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines

Restaurants

Tex-Mex/Mexican

-Mi Cocina - No reservations taken. This is our go-to dinner spot. We recommend getting a Mambo Taxi to drink, but heads up, they’re strong!

-Las Palmas- recommend reservations but not always needed if you go early

-Velvet Taco- casual spot for unique tacos

-Javier’s Gourmet Mexicano- authentic upscale Mexican, reservation recommended

BBQ

-Pecan Lodge - located in Deep Ellum. Amazing spot for lunch or early dinner, but we don’t recommend being in this area after dark

-Terry Blacks - also located in Deep Ellum

-Smoky Rose - in East Dallas, great after a walk through the arboretum or white rock lake
