The dress code for our wedding is black tie optional/formal attire. Ladies should wear long or short cocktail dresses, and gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat. No shorts, and no jeans.
2. Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be outside with a beautiful backdrop of Newport RI. The reception will be tented overlooking the water.
3. What time should I arrive?
We recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled! Traffic will be heavy so be sure to give yourself enough time and avoid getting stuck in the commute as our ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30.
If you will be utilizing the shuttle service from our preferred hotel, please arrive in enough time to get on the shuttle as they will be leaving promptly at 4:30 and 4:45.
4. Where should guests park? Is parking free?
Guests are encouraged to park at our preferred hotel and utilize our transportation to and from our wedding as parking in downtown Newport will not be easy, however there are a few pay by plate lots within walking distance to the Bohlin.
5. Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #popspoppedthequestion so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
6. Will there be an open bar?
Yes, absolutely! Leave those dollar bills at home and enjoy the night on us!
7. I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do while I'm in Newport?
One thing that made us fall in love with Newport was that there was so much to do. Click on the "Things to Do" tab to check out some of our favorite spots!
8. When will the reception end? Will there be an after-party?
The reception will end at 11:00pm. Guests may take the shuttles back to the preferred hotel, or walk up the street to The Landing to continue the fun and enjoy some live music! The Landing will have a cash ONLY cover between $40-50 and there will be live music!
