Lauren and Matthew met at one of the most romantic places in the world…a middle school. Lauren started her first teaching job at King George Middle School, where she met Matt. It was not quite love at first sight. However, after some time of getting to know each other, the world’s shortest season coaching soccer together, a global pandemic, and the insistence of a good friend they finally went on their first date. From there they continued to spend as much time together as they could, from workplace lunches, to walking Lauren’s dog, Luna, after school, and many weekends exploring Fredericksburg and nearby areas.

Matt and Lauren continued to build their story together, between moving from Fredericksburg, VA to Harrisburg, PA and back to Fredericksburg together, several trips to visit family and friends in Pennsylvania and New York, getting their second dog, Rose, a couple family vacations, and many more experiences over their three years together. Matt planned a day trip for Lauren and their pups. They went hiking and enjoyed a lunch together along the waterside. After a beautiful day together, Matt and Lauren took the dogs for a walk along the water where Matt got down on one knee and proposed.

Now Matt and Lauren look forward to spending a beautiful fall day with their friends and family as they say, “I do,” and begin the next chapter of their lives.
