After thinking about it for months, Austin first asked Lauren out on March 16th, 2024.

They had their first date on May 21st at the El Jimador restaurant in Peoria. Lauren was so nervous that she didn't eat any chips or salsa, and didn't even realize that until their meals were served. They had a great conversation and decided to see each other again.

On June 9th, they had their fourth date visiting the Peoria Botanical Gardens. They officially became boyfriend and girlfriend, then celebrated by getting dinner and watching the Facebook reactions roll in.

Their almost 7 months of dating were filled with birthday celebrations, family get-togethers, game nights, church services, flower farm parties, late-night phone calls, Saturday morning adventures, worship-leading opportunities, and SO many questions from Laurens' infamous "questions list."

On January 1st, 2025, Austin officially asked Scott & Brandy for their blessing to propose to Lauren.

The original plan was for Austin to propose to Lauren on February 15th at the Peoria Botanical Gardens where they became "official."

But, in pure Austin fashion, Austin was too excited and could not wait. So, he abandoned his original plan and came up with something equally as romantic.

On January 4th, Lauren thought Austin was coming into town to spend time together before attending Crossbridge's Saturday night service. It was nothing out of the ordinary.

But, when Austin arrived at Lauren's house, he didn't walk back to say hello. Lauren eventually walked into the living room, and, to her total surprise, there was Austin ... on his knee ... with 5 dozen roses in a vase.

Lauren froze in shock and excitement once she realized what was happening.

Austin called Lauren over to him, said some very sweet things, and asked if she would marry him! Lauren very eagerly said YES!

Since then, their lives have been filled with even more memories, late-night phone calls, and questions from Laurens' list.

They cherish the memories that they have made so far and look forward to making so many more - TOGETHER!
