How We Met 

Lauren, on accident, hadn’t put her dating profile back on mute after showing a friend how the app works. A day later, Charlie’s request came through. Fate? Both profiles broadcasting their love of camping, the outdoors, and their super cool off road vehicles (see below photos). It was an easy match. A week later, they met officially with another love for craft beer at their favorite brewery, State 48, in Surprise, AZ. Two weeks after that, they went on their first group camping trip in Crown King, AZ. Lauren and her friends were swooning over this guy who made spider dogs and hobo pie pizzas. A relationship that was easy from the start, essentially two of the same people. And the rest, as they say, is history.

The Engagement 

Lauren and Charlie made their relationship official on December 20th, 2021. A few days later was Christmas and a new tradition was born; after gifts and breakfast, they went on an off-roading adventure nearby. On their 3rd Christmas, they decided to go a little farther out to Harquahala Mountain, the highest mountain range in southwestern Arizona. There is a 20.6 mile out and back off road trail that leads you to the peak. Charlie and Lauren packed up the dog and lunch, and set out on their way. It took a few hours to get to the top where they pulled into a sight seeing area to spend some time. One of the gifts Charlie wanted for Christmas and got, was some binoculars. After some time of hanging out, Charlie took out the binoculars to “test” them out. Then he asked Lauren if she wanted a go at them. Lauren took them but she got too invested in looking at all the things way down in the valley, and when she turned around, there was Charlie down on one knee with a ring in his hands. Lauren cannot recall the brief moments after as time stopped, but she did manage to say “Oh shit!” Not something Charlie was expecting off the bat, but then she said “YES!” Best Christmas ever 🩷💍
