Dan and Lauren were both on vacation with their families and decided to check out a dating website when they suddenly matched one another. It was interesting for them to find out they both lived in completely different states; Lauren from Pennsylvania and Dan currently stationed in North Carolina due to his service in the Army. They quickly were intrigued by each other and wanted to get to know each other but Dan was set to deploy overseas in just a matter of weeks. While it was hard to determine either's true motives, they eventually realized they both wanted something serious, long lasting and worthwhile. They made it a priority to communicate as much as possible while he was gone, hoping things would come to fruition once he returned home. Once Dan returned home, they began spending more and more time together. They were amazed at their similarities but also their differences and quickly fell in love with one another.

Dan was placed on recruiting orders, which brought him to Lauren's hometown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They made their relationship official and open to their families who grew fond of Dan and Lauren respectively. As they continued dating, they began planning for their future and moved in together in November of 2018. They bought and currently own an adorable Siberian Husky puppy named Maverick. They got engaged in April of 2019 on a walk through the woods while Maverick played an integral role in the surprise occasion.
