Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Isaac and I met in the wee hours of eighth grade at Faith Fellowship's youth group in Melbourne, FL. This youth ministry was influential in the development of both of our relationships with the Lord. We have been aware of each other since we each joined this ministry, but our friendship really blossomed in tenth grade, when we formed the tradition of going out each Christmas and shopping for presents for our mutual friends. Once a year encounters turned into long night texting, which eventually turned into mutual affection in our senior year of high school. Our first date was the day of our graduation rehearsals, and we started officially dating that summer: July 4, 2019. I soon left for school to the University of Florida, which resulted in a long term dating relationship filled with joyful commitment and love until we got engaged in December 2022.

Isaac popped the question on December 28, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our proposal story is nothing short of a miracle. Isaac had already flown up to Colorado to see his best man Noah Randolph, and I was supposed to follow up with a flight a couple of days later to visit. Flying out of Orlando on December 25, 2022, I found myself right in the middle of a Christmas flight fiasco. My flight got cancelled while I was waiting to board at the airport, as did at least 90% of the other Southwest flights scheduled to leave that day. By the grace of God, I was able to get on a flight to Denver at the last minute, since I had been on standby for the flight and I was a single flyer. Looking back, this success was confirmation to me that the proposal was meant to be and that God was going to have His way in our lives. Once in Colorado, we hiked Section 16/Palmer Trail, approximately 1,575 miles away from where we met. On our way down from the mountain, Isaac held my hands, told me he loved me, and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes, accepted the most beautiful ring, and then Rhea took our engagement photos for us on the trail. It will forever be a story that we will treasure and we thank God for making it possible.
