Q + A

Q&A

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Yes. See the “Travel” tab for more information.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

No, there is no transportation from the suggested hotels to the venue. We recommend renting a car, using a ride share app, or taking advantage of Phoenix’s public transportation options.

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction, can I make a special request?

We are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions. We don’t want anyone to die or starve. Please note your allergy or preference in your RSVP. Note: we are not offering special kids’ meals.

Is there a dress code?

Yes, there is a dress code. We’ll call it “fun formal.” We would like you to dress nice but also in clothing that makes you feel happy or confident. We encourage bright colors, unique socks/ties, and self-expression. Pretty much, as long as you’re dressed up nice in something other than white, you’re golden.

Are you registered? Where?

Yes, we are registered. You can access our registry here on The Knot in the “Registry” tab. We have been living together for a while, so we have most of the household goods we need. For that reason, we are primarily asking for contributions to experiences/the honeymoon fund.

Can I bring a date?

No, sorry! We tried to accommodate everyone who might need a plus one, but we may have missed a few of you. But still, if their name isn’t on the invitation, they’d better show up with a chair and a sandwich because we aren’t prepared to accommodate uninvited +1s.

Are you changing your names?

No, we aren’t changing our names. We both like the names we have and hate the paperwork we’d have to do, so you can continue to call us Lauren Pauls and Joel Guy.

Are kids welcome?

We are only extending invitations to the children of immediate family. We have included names of those children on our invites - we cannot accomodate additional beyond that.

Who's in the wedding party?

Nobody! We had too many amazing choices and didn't want to have to choose. What a good problem to have!

Didn't you get married already?

We had a (super casual) civil ceremony for tax purposes on December 1st of 2023. That said, we consider this our real wedding and we’re going all out for this one.
