A coworker was bugging Lauren for a few weeks to meet a member of his fraternity. One day she finally agreed to go to the local sport's bar, Van Diemens, in a group to meet Jason. After not answering 2 of her bail out phone calls and drinking her first ever Bud Light, Lauren knew Jason was the one. Finally after talking together the entire night, they set up a date the next week. Lauren immediately texted her parents that Jason is perfect. A date at J Bird, bleacher seats at the Yankee game, a trip to the Chelsea Piers driving range, and the rest was history.

The setup she never wanted...

Lauren and Jason were down the shore for the third annual Fuggedaboudit Slalom Consulting work retreat. Lauren had slight suspicion all along that Jason might be proposing that weekend, but the chance never rose above 50%. Sunday morning when Jason was getting ready he realized that he 'lost his keys'. He insisted on heading back to Avenue, a rooftop restaurant that we were previously out at the night before, to trace his steps. At this point Lauren knew something was up because Jason Schatz NEVER loses his keys, but she let him continue on with his plan.They got to Avenue and went out onto the roof to look in the couches. When they got outside Jason got down on one knee and asked Lauren to spend the rest of their lives together, and she said Yes!
