This one started way back in 2017 when three guys walked into a bar in South Boston...Fred was living in Southie at the time and on one random Friday night, happened to be meeting two college friends for a drink... they popped into a bar close to the train station and were greeted by a firecracker of a bartender named Lauren. Typical shenanigans would ensue as one meat-head in the group would proceed to order a 'cup' of Jameson... Fred was slightly embarrassed and somewhat concerned by this drink order but was surprised by the smile they were met with and full 'cup' of Jameson he received... One could deduce that the night started heading sideways rather quickly with the amount of accelerant that had been introduced. Fred had to quickly downshift to manage the crew he showed up with and ordered a 'Cider'... a move that was immediately pounced on by Lauren... and one Fred would not hear the end of. These two would trade witty shots at each other all night... some might call it flirting... but a connection neither of them could have expected was sparked. Since that day these two have followed the twists and turns of life and somehow have always found a way back to each other. A pull, a draw, a connection that cannot be replicated. Fast forward to 2020, Fred is on a flight to the UAE to see Lauren for Valentines Day, where she has been a Pre-K teacher for the past year. It was a shotgun trip of a lifetime, from glamping in Ras Al-Khaimah on the Persian Gulf, mountain biking among the Hajar Mountain range, visiting the Grand Mosque of Abu Dhabi, and having dinner in front of the Berj Khalifa in Dubai. They did it all! Shortly after, the whole covid thing started to shut the world down and close borders. Which quickly turned into operation 'Get Lauren Home'. Frantic calls with the UAE Embassy resulted in Lauren being placed on a last and final flight to NY. What felt like a month of negotiations finally got her back. Fred and Lauren have since been living in Woburn where they enjoy the endless activities they have at their fingertips right across the street at Horn Pond. I'm sure many of you have had a beer, walked the pond, hiked the summit, watched the sunset, rode a bike, kayaked or just dropped in for a visit with them. They are often visiting the family they have close by and make the most of the beach life on the Cape or in Hampton. They are always looking for the next adventure... the greatest is about to begin.
