It was September 1, 2011 on Lauren's first day of college at Rutgers University when she was introduced to Sam. They met at the first football tailgate of the season and the rest is history. Fast forward 9 years, it was Christmas day on a white sand beach in Aruba when Sam asked Lauren to spend the rest of their lives together. ​
