Lauren and Eric’s love story began in December of 2019 when they met during a happy hour organized by their parents, who were longtime friends. Lauren was in town visiting her parents, and Eric, living in Scottsdale at the time, was "excited" to meet the girl his mom had been raving about.

Although they barely talked at the happy hour, Eric took a chance and texted Lauren after he left, inviting her to go out with him and his friends that same evening. He knew he had an early flight the next morning, but it was his only opportunity to spend more time with her before she would go back home. To his surprise, Lauren accepted the invite.

After that initial night, they continued to stay in touch, exchanging text messages, phone calls and FaceTimes even after Lauren returned back to Chicago. Eventually, Lauren made plans to visit Eric again, and their relationship grew from there. Their parents couldn’t have been happier, knowing they had played a pivotal role in bringing their children together.

However, just a few months later, the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many couples, Lauren and Eric faced unexpected challenges as social distancing measures took effect. With their relationship just beginning, they had to navigate a new reality.

As restrictions began to ease, they finally had the chance to spend time together in person again. Their bond deepened and they quickly realized that their relationship could withstand any challenge. At this time, Eric was caddying on the PGA Tour, which kept him busy on the road. However, he made it a priority to spend his weeks off in Chicago with Lauren, soaking up every moment they could share together. Ultimately, Eric and Lauren decided to move in together in Chicago in February 2022.

In March 2023, they took another big leap and decided to move to Scottsdale, where Eric had previously lived. Excited for this new adventure, they found a place they both loved and began their next chapter together filled with many new opportunities.

Fast forward to today, Eric and Lauren are engaged and excitedly planning their future together, often reflecting on the ultimate happy hour that changed their lives forever.
