Our Wedding

Burk and I met very early on in college at the University of Alabama. I grew up in Buffalo, NY, and Burk grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. We met one of the first days of freshman year, and our paths continued to cross through mutual friends. We took each other to many date parties over the first few years, and finally started dating in 2018, during our junior year. When we graduated in 2020, I returned home to Buffalo for dental school at UB, and Burk went home to Indy for an MBA graduate program at Purdue. We made long distance work for two years, and virtual classes due to covid allowed us to visit each other a ton! When Burk finished his grad program in 2022, he moved to Buffalo for my final two years of dental school. We moved in together in an adorable house in Elmwood Village. When I graduated from dental school, I took a residency position through ECU in Davidson County, North Carolina. Thankfully, Burk is flexible and was up for another move! We packed up our life in Buffalo and left for Winston-Salem in June. Burk proposed right before the move on May 17th. He told me months prior that he had a work party, and I was completely clueless. We arrived at the AKG art museum near Delaware Park, and I thought Burk was lost while he was looking for the museum's "special entrance." Little did I know, he had our photographer friend hiding and was trying to get us in the perfect view. I was so surprised when he knelt to one knee and proposed! Burk had a surprise engagement party set up with all of our family and friends following the proposal, another amazing surprise! We are loving every second so far in Winston-Salem and are having so much fun exploring a brand new area together.&nbsp; Thank you to every one of you who has been a part of our journey, we simply can't wait to celebrate this special day with you!

For larger groups, we also recommend looking at airbnb's/vrbo's in Elmwood Village. It is a cute neighborhood less than ten minutes from downtown. This is where Burk and I lived for two years, and is home to many of our favorite spots!
