Q + A

Is the ceremony and reception at the same location?

No, our ceremony will be held at Saint James Roman Catholic Parish in New Alexandria, Pa. The address can be found on the invitation and under the travel tab of our wedding website. Our cocktail hour and reception will be held from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM at the Chestnut Ridge Resort in Blairsville, PA.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

We recommend arriving at the church 15-30 minutes early so that we can begin our ceremony on time.

Can I attend the Ceremony (Mass) if I am not Catholic or of a different faith?

ABSOLUTELY! We are happy to welcome all those with an invitation at our ceremony. Our parish has multiple screens that serve as references for readings, responses, hymn lyrics, and indicators of movement (sitting, standing, and or kneeling). Everyone is welcome in our ceremony, and we are excited to celebrate our marriage and the blessing of love in the presence of our friends, family and God.

Is there parking?

Yes! Saint James Parish has a large parking lot, and several handicap spots, additionally, there is a handrail leading up to the church. Yes! Chestnut Ridge has a large parking lot. To ensure that you are entering the correct door, the entrance closest to the fountain will take you into the lobby where you will be able to take the elevator to the second floor to enjoy cocktail hour. There are steps and a handicap accessible ramp at this door.

May I bring a guest?

We are very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends, that are just as eager as us to celebrate our union. However, due to certain restraints, unless your invitation includes a "Plus 1" please do not invite any extra guests. Guest's names will be included on the invitation and have a space on our RSVP.

Can we bring our children?

While we love your kids, we are hosting an adult only ceremony and reception. Please use this as an excuse to make a date night for you and your significant other.

What is the attire?

As stated on our "Homepage" the attire is Formal/Black-tie Optional. We are spending our morning preparing ourselves for the ceremony and reception to look and feel our best, and would love our guests to do the same. The bridal party will be wearing emerald green, floor length gowns, and black tuxedos. If you are feeling stuck on what to wear... Please no jeans or khakis. Otherwise, suit-and-ties, dresses, skirts, etc would be very elegant for our wedding celebration.

Something we forgot to mention or you still have questions about?
