Our story begins with two friends who turned out to be professional matchmakers, Jesus, and a woman who looks incredible in everything…especially an orange dress.

I was out in Lubbock with some friends one day. I started talking to a friend, Peyton Sifrit, who had just recently gone to Vegas on a girl’s trip. I told her how incredibly attractive the girl wearing the orange dress was in the picture she posted and that I wanted to meet her. Even though I knew she was far out of my league. I mean I’m a confident guy…but I’m not plain stupid. Peyton told me she would definitely introduce me, but had no promises.

The following week, I went to a small group at church where my new friend Danae, getting to know me, asked if I was dating or interested in anyone. I told her about the girl in the orange dress. Her face lit up immediately and she said, “Oh my gosh! I work with her a lululemon.”

I do have some game, so at that point, I decided I’d gamble. Lauren and I began to connect through Peyton and also through Danae...my two middle (wo)men. Lauren had told the girls that she wanted our first meeting to be in person, not over text. After about a week it felt odd that we hadn't had a 1 on 1 conversation and the pressure had built. What if we didn't even like each other?

Finally, Danae talked me into coming to lululemon to meet Lauren. I knew she was too attractive to stay single for long and was unwilling to miss my chance. I had to meet the woman in the orange dress.

So, I told Danae I would come…but I had a plan. I waited ALL day to build the anticipation. Then right as Lauren thought, there was no way I was coming, I walked in. She nervously walked by me with a stack of leggings, trying to look busy. We were both so nervous!

For the next two hours, I sat by the fitting room and asked her all the questions I could think of. I tried on more clothes than I’ve ever done in a store, just to find more time to spend with her. When it was time to check out, I scored the “I Love You, Man” discount and Lauren’s number. Well… she asked for mine, but that was to see if I had lululemon account…Oops.

The next day we went on our first date to Las Brisas, and I was hooked. Lauren was someone I couldn’t keep my eyes off, but she was also so intellectual, driven, and caring. She was genuine and joyful.

A couple of months later, we went on our first trip to Big Bend. That's when I knew. I knew she was the one. We suffered several hikes, and she made them easier. I was once told that if you can find someone you want to suffer with, you’ve found something special. Lauren doesn’t just make a good time great; she makes the suffering easier.

We now live in Frisco, Texas where we both work in the medical field and love it. We found an amazing church, Preston Trail Community Church, where Lauren was recently baptized. We have great friends and influences who surround us, but most importantly, we have Jesus and each other.

Thank you for reading our story and investing in our lives. We hope we reciprocate that investment of love, kindness, and time back to you. We love y’all!
