Our Wedding

Early in 2021, sometime in February, I received a text message from my lifelong friend, Morgan Sevenish, asking if I would go on a blind date with somebody that Jake, her then boyfriend and now husband, worked with. Our text message quickly turned into a phone call where I could hear Morgan saying to Jake, who was on the phone with Ryan, to ask Ryan if he would "Go on a blind date with a single mom". Ryan's response was something along the lines of "Send me a picture of her", followed up with a "Yes". Morgan then started working on the details of our First Date, which would unfold on Saturday, March 27th. She planned a double date that included dinner at Hop Cat followed by Axe Throwing in downtown Ann Arbor. I was unsure of the whole idea of a date with anybody, let alone a stranger, so during the weeks between that early day in February until Saturday, March 27th I had many conversations with my closest friends to determine if I should or shouldn't go on this date. Ultimately, I decided it was worth a shot so when the day came Morgan and I got ready for our date and Jake chauffeured us to Ann Arbor where we met Ryan. When we got to HopCat Ryan walked up to us and said hi. I think I mostly proceeded to ignore him while I talked to some lady who was sitting outside complaining about how fast cars were going. I'd have to ask Ryan what else she was saying because she was a character. Anyways, we walked around for a bit and then headed back to HopCat to be seated. Ryan bought me fish tacos.

The Beginning

Very quickly Ryan became the newest member of our little family. For a really long time, I prayed for somebody who would love Avery as much as she deserved. From the very start, Ryan showed up for her with consistency, stability, and love. Ryan shows up for us every single day, in every single way. We enjoyed our first Summer together in 2021 as a family.
