Our Wedding Day

We look forward to welcoming you to Sydney and kicking off wedding week at our welcome party, held at the New Brighton Hotel in Manly. Join us for an evening of cocktails, bubbles, food and music on our last night unwed. We'll enjoy sunset views over Manly beach and corso, with a few surprises along the way.

As thanks for travelling all this way we're hosting one last celebration: a Poolside Recovery Brunch! Before we say farewell and head off on our minimoon, please join us for an afternoon by a private pool for brunch, bubbles (hair of the dog), and to float away the wedding blues before you head back home.

We appreciate not everyone can make it down-under, and have limited our guest list with thought to this, so we’re super excited to celebrate with you all in our old local - just minutes from our first home together! Please ensure you RSVP to our party so we can plan accordingly

How To Find Us

The Grange is accessible by the Elizabeth, Central, District and Piccadilly lines in under 5 minute walk. It’s also a short drive from the M25 &amp; North Circular with plenty of on street parking. We'll be onsite from 7pm but would recommend arriving from 7:30 if you can, so we can grab some family pictures before the festivities begin!

Food & Drink

If you know us well, you know you won’t be going hungry… we’ll have plenty of food &amp; drink offerings for everyone, but this won’t be a sit down meal.

Photography

Please note there will be a photographer around to grab plenty of shots with our beautiful guests, as not everyone will make our big day abroad - dress for the occasion (but no white…duh!) We have agreed the photographer can use our images to build her portfolio so please do flag with her if you’d rather not be featured.

Accommodation

If you're planning on staying the night there are several low-cost options in the vicinity of Ealing and Acton for you to explore. Engagement Party

A huge thank you &amp; welcome to our bridesmaids and groomsmen supporting our big day. Whilst we know it’s tradition for the Maid of Honour &amp; Best Man to organise the Hen &amp; Stag do’s, we couldn’t help but have a say… &amp; where better to celebrate than on a weekend of culture, food (&amp; plenty of limoncello!)

Travel

Craig &amp; Lauren will touch down in Rome, straight from Sydney, a few days earlier to get on top of that jet lag… We’re inviting you to join us from the afternoon of Friday 21st November, until we all fly back to the UK together on Sunday 23rd November.We propose booking the following:FR3004 STN 18:25 - CIA 21:50 (but we’d love for you to join us earlier if you can!) We have booked a large Airbnb for the weekend, allowing us to stick together and making transport a little easier. We’ll arrange nibbles &amp; intros for the first evening so you can all get comfortable and settled in.

As we don’t intend on heading back to the UK until we’re newlyweds, we’re dedicating Friday night to trying on your new Groomsmen suits &amp; Bridesmaid dresses which we’ll send you home with - so please save some room in your suitcase for this. Australian Visa

You’ll need a visa to enter Australia, and whilst these are usually granted instantly for UK passport holders we would recommend applying for this when you book your flights. Check recent guidance but you will want to apply for <a href="https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/electronic-travel-authority-601" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Subclass 601: Electronic Travel Authority</a>

Customs Declaration

On arrival you'll be asked to watch a video from the Australian government on what you can bring into the country. If you've watched Nothing to Declare you know how strict their biosecurity laws are, so please <a href="https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/can-you-bring-it-in/overview" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">research in advance. </a>Below is a copy of the landing card you'll need to fill out and hand in on arrival.

If you’d prefer to book an AirBnb, we would recommend the following areas for proximity to our events, beautiful beaches &amp; public transport into the CBD: - Mosman (our home, the best suburb in Sydney obvs),- Cremorne,- Neutral Bay,- Manly,- Freshwater,- North Sydney. Generally anywhere north of the harbour bridge will be best value for money and still very easy to navigate to tourist hot spots via the bridge and tunnel closely linking us to the CBD, Airport and Eastern suburbs (for your Bondi pics!)

Flights

Take it from us, take the longest flight first and transit at Singapore or Hong Kong (Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific &amp; sometimes British Airways) wherever possible - it makes the journey that little bit less painful!If you’re booking your return flight separately, take the alternative route and transit at Doha or Dubai (Emirates, Qatar Airways or Qantas). If you can, book your seats as soon as possible to secure the best rates! Grab a window seat ‘A’ for views of the harbour as you descend into Sydney...

Car Rental

Sydney has great public transport in the form of buses, metro, trams and ferries! However, we found it easiest to secure a car rental when we first arrived to support getting around a little quicker, and ferries don’t always run late (though there are plenty of Ubers). We drive on the left in Australia and rentals will happily accept your UK license without a need for an international driving permit. Sydney is notorious for toll charges but your rental company will bill you for these at the end of your hire, so you don’t need to worry. Sydney airport &amp; CBD has all the usual car rental firms but we found <a href="https://www.nobirds.com.au/sydney/car-hire/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">No Birds</a> to be the cheapest and easiest to use!

Phone Data

We know data roaming can be expensive abroad, but if you’re only coming for a few weeks you won’t want to buy a local SIM card. We highly suggest you turn off your data roaming once in Australia and purchase an e-SIM using the <a href="https://www.getnomad.app/australia-eSIM?rfsn=8028475.ff61fa&amp;subid=lq4etcv250612abibbaaeifz" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">NOMAD</a> app for the duration of your trip (around 10 GB, 30 days for USD $15). This will enable you full data use (incl WhatsApp messaging and calls) without incurring additional fees from your current mobile provider, and you can create bundles for other locations if you will be travelling nearby. We have used this for several trips with no issues, and download instructions are relatively easy to follow within the app. Use code LAURXTJLRU for money off too.

Banking

Like the UK, you won’t need cash often in Australia but we appreciate international banking fees can add up. If you don’t already have a travel FX card, we would recommend an online bank such as <a href="https://www.starlingbank.com/travel/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Starling</a>, which we have used frequently on our travels and without issue.

We have plenty of recommendations for restaurants, beaches and mini-breaks all across Sydney and NSW! We know some of you will be hitting some other cities across Australia within your trip so please let us know your travel plans &amp; we’ll happily share our recs across your itinerary!

Beaches

Australia has some of the best beaches in the world and Sydney has its fair share of that! Balmoral Beach, MosmanOur local, at the end of our road. Stunning clear blue waters and squeaky sand, we love Balmoral most for its calm sea and gentle waves for a refreshing swim after work or floating away the weekend. There’s a dedicated swimming section if you’re nervous about fishies, just stay away from the rocky island &amp; it’s blue-ringed octopus! Shelly Beach, ManlyA short walk from Manly’s main beach, Shelly beach is tucked into a little cove and the best spot for snorkelling! Nice calm waters and plenty of bonus swimming spots on the short walk from Manly centre too. Get there early to secure a prime spot on the sand! Manly Beach, Manly Manly’s beach is huge and a great spot for surfing because of its huge waves and long coastline. It’s often very busy on weekends, and isn’t the greatest for swimming due to the current but a beautiful spot to dip your toes after a few hours lunching in town! Freshwater Beach, FreshwaterA beautiful beach to jump waves, a little further up the north coast from Manly. Stunning blue waters (as is everywhere!) but be mindful of blue-bottle jellyfish if lifeguards have a sign up as they can sting! Bondi Beach, BondiWe know you’ll head down to Bondi for that infamous picture of the icebergs! Make sure to stop and watch the surfers tackle some huge waves, but please be careful as they’re no longer filming Bondi Rescue (lol)! Similar to Manly, Bondi isn’t the greatest beach for swimming and can be very very busy but worth exploring the town and kicking off the Bondi-Coogee walk for some much better dipping spots! Bronte Beach, BronteOur favourite swimming spot on the Bondi-Coogee walk! Much quieter than some of the surrounding beaches, with some great waves plus a separate ocean pool away if you prefer something calmer. Other Beaches of NoteThis list could go on forever, so outside of our favourite swimming spots we would also recommend Gordon’s Bay, Tamarama &amp; Coogee beaches on the Bondi-Coogee walk; Dee Why, Avalon, and Palm beach on the Northern Beaches; or Rose Bay and Milk Beach for smaller swimming spots but great views across the city.

Northern Beaches

Bloom, MosmanA great local breakfast spot, you’ll soon see how much Aussies love a bacon &amp; egg roll! Pasture, Balmoral Another great breakfast (&amp; all day) spot along the seafront - if you’re lucky enough to snag an outside table! Yo-yo’s BBQ, Neutral BayHong Kong style food and our go-to Chinese takeout! Jaggis Indian Eatery, Neutral Bay Top Indian restaurant and stunning views of the harbour just down the road. Mr Lim, Mosman Amazing Asian cuisine just at the top of our road! The Boathouse, Balmoral Lowkey stop for breakfast or lunch over the water. Public Dining Room, BalmoralA little fancy Australian restaurant with great cocktails, we talk about their pork belly often… Kazzi Beach Greek, Balmoral &amp; ManlyDangerously close to home and the best gyros outside of Greece, no lie! Craig’s favourite in all of Sydney! Bottom of the Harbour, BalmoralBritish chippy’s just don’t compare, extra tasty sat along the beach front watching the world go by! Bather’s Pavilion, BalmoralA group of excellent restaurants overlooking Balmoral beach, the Thai is especially nice! Manly Grill, Manly Excellent, relaxed steakhouse! An Viet, Manly Our favourite Vietnamese in Sydney, the pork banh mi is amazing on a hot day! Little Pearl, Manly Lauren’s favourite, pan-Asian cuisine with the best spritz &amp; cocktail selection overlooking Manly beach! Bar Elvina, AvalonA little Italian eatery up the Northern Beaches! The Buena, MosmanOur local pub, a nice little drink at the top of our road!

CBD & Eastern Suburbs

Harry’s, Bondi Highly recommend a strawberry iced matcha or iced coffee from here to start your mooch around town! Sonoma Bakery, Bondi Lovely pastries to go with your Harry’s matcha! Sakura Japanese Kitchen, CBD A laid back restaurant ideal for a lunchtime break from walking around the city. Babylon, CBDA middle-eastern rooftop with great cocktails and lots of small plates.

Activities

You don’t need us to tell you stop by the Opera house, you already know the cliches of Bondi icebergs… but if you want some other activities to add to your itinerary definitely consider the following: - Luna Park fairground - Birkenhead Point outlet - Ferry rides (public transport, but so worth it for the pictures!)- Taronga Zoo- Westfield tower- Warringah mall (our preferred mall if you fancy some shopping). Weekly Markets- Glebe - Paddington - Bondi - Manly- Kirribilli (3x month) - Mosman (Monthly) Walks- Hermitage Foreshore (2km)- Cremorne Point (3km)- Bondi to Coogee (6km)- Bradley’s Head to Balmoral Beach (6.8km)- Manly to Spit (10km)

NSW Minibreaks 

The Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains are a 2 hour drive in-land from Sydney and a great mini-break for a night or so if you want a peaceful countryside weekend out of the city, though can be done in a day via train if you’re on a tight schedule. We stayed at <a href="https://www.parklands.com.au/rooms" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Parklands Country Garden &amp; Lodges</a> in a Canopy room, a beautiful place to wake up with kookaburras outside your window! Things to do include numerous hikes, sightseeing at the Three Sisters, Scenic World (if you don’t fancy the hike!), botanic gardens, and lots of tranquil spas in the area.

South Coast NSW: Jervis Bay

We have spent several long weekends in the south coast on some of New South Wales’ most beautiful beaches and wineries, around a 3 hour drive out of Sydney. Our accommodation top picks: <a href="https://www.booking.com/Share-HkawDq" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">South Coast Retreat, Greenwell Point</a><a href="https://www.bannisters.com.au/mollymook/?gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=16647961156&amp;gbraid=0AAAAAD_h5Ovw-0kRNzRmVmN3Fs3R7xx-m&amp;gclid=CjwKCAjwwNbEBhBpEiwAFYLtGBSbLJDEhycB1PxyeLSfIvfOuAQqwrYicOcn2N-mrc0K9az5jxbbQRoCnOMQAvD_BwE" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bannisters, Mollymook</a><a href="https://www.cupittsestate.com.au/stay" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cupitt’s Estate Villas, Ulladulla</a> We highly recommend pre- booking restaurants in the area, as there are fewer out in the country. Cupitt’s estate offer an excellent lunch and wine tasting we can vouch for, or small plates &amp; local beers at Bannisters, a drink at the Huskisson hotel, or Sunday lunch at the Butter Factory! Best beaches in the area: Greenpatch Beach - keep an eye out for roos!Hyams Beach Honeymoon BayTarget Beach - a little walk through the woods but we had the place to ourselves !

Port Stephens

Port Stephens is a couple hours north of Sydney, just past Newcastle, but well worth the trip! It has several beautiful beaches and is a little livelier than the South Coast, in our opinion. We stayed in an airbnb in Corlette but there are several great hotels in the area, including another Bannisters. Things to do and see include the beaches at Nelson Bay &amp; Shoal Bay, Fingal Bay (check the tide before walking the Spit!), Tomaree Head hike and - saving the best for last - Port Stephen’s Koala Sanctuary! We really enjoyed eating at Atmos and Shoal Bay Country Club too!

Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley is a few hours north of Sydney, and a great detour home from Port Stephens if you don’t have time to stay there. This has been our favourite place for a scenic drive in NSW and we very nearly chose a wedding venue here… You’ll see lots of wildlife around and should be especially careful as kangaroos and wombats are often near the roads edge. There’s numerous wineries worth exploring and, if you really want to splash out, gorgeous hot air balloon rides at sunrise !

Cocktail Attire

We kindly request all ladies join us in black tie, full length or midi dresses similar to those suggested in the collage. Wear your best heels, but note there will be short walk on grass to our ceremony. We encourage colour, but please no white or similar!

Ladies

Whilst we ask for black tie, don't shy away from a lighter suit! We gently ask you wear smart shoes, a white shirt and note a suit jacket is required. To our Scottish friends, kilt's also encouraged - thank you!

Gentlemen

For our morning after brunch, feel free to relax your attire - summer dresses, shorts &amp; swimwear!Remember it will be warm so top up on sunscreen too!
