Built by a Portland Socialite and Editor in chief of the Oregon Gazette, this house is one full of history as well as a spectacular view of the city. This is our favorite view of the city and would highly recommend a visit!
Touring the house does have an entry fee but you can visit the grounds and see the spectacular view after paying for parking. You can also hike up to the house from both the Rose Garden and Hoyt Arboretum.
One of Portland's best places to see! The greater Washington Park is also really lovely to explore as well with the Portland Japanese Garden, Oregon Zoo, and a plethora of trails all a shuttle bus and short walk away from one another. We spent a lot of time here enjoying all the offerings of Washington Park.
It's just as it sounds! In the median of the road you can say that you have been to the world's smallest park on your visit to Portland! We visited this park in January 2021 early on in our relationship.
Other notable features around are the Oregon Stag Sign (15 minute walk from this park), the Willamette River water front, and the Portland Saturday Market if you need something to do in the morning.
Huge bookstore with a wide selection of used books.
