A fresh 6 months into living in New York City, Cory was hanging out with Chris at his Harlem apartment when Chris mentions that cast members from his recent production of Twelfth Night were hanging out close by and playing music together, and they should go check it out. Lauren would be there, as she was in this production of Twelfth Night, but this was not immediately known to Cory. The boys walked into the rehearsal, Cory and Lauren caught eyes as Lauren played her violin, and the rest they say is history. What was your first impression of each other? Cory: She’s stunningly beautiful and musically gifted, seemed a bit mysterious at first and maybe a bit guarded, but that really made me want to work to earn her trust. We met each others eyes and I felt warmth and comfort and saw so much love and tenderness in her eyes.&nbsp;I think I could tell she was an empathetic soul when I first saw her.&nbsp; Lauren: There was a period of time after we met that I honestly thought, maybe this guy is a con man, there's no way someone could be this handsome and also this kind and thoughtful. It took me a while to actually believe that yes, this is just who Cory is, he really is that great, it's not a con. I was also ecstatic that I met someone who liked both The White Stripes and Béla Fleck in equal parts. What's been your favorite trip you've taken together? Cory: Definitely Ireland. It’s where we got engaged, we flew hawks together, saw breathtaking scenery, it’s our first international trip together, did lots of exploring, got to experience a country that both of us have wanted to go to for so long.&nbsp; Lauren: I also loved our road trip from Florida to New Orleans and Nashville. It was following the longest period we've been apart in our relationship, so I think we were really excited to be back together, but it was so fun getting to show Cory the little life I had in Sarasota, and then experience some completely new and wonderful places. I always feel like we're very in sync when we travel. When did you know they were the one? Cory: I’m not sure there was one specific moment, but feel like I knew pretty early on that she was different to me than other gals. I knew something special was there when she would repeatedly make me belly laugh like no one else had, and to have that connection so early on was essential to me. We’ve laughed together so many times since then and I’m so thankful for that.&nbsp; Lauren: I think I had a feeling pretty early on, like within the first month, that Cory was a really rare guy. He made me feel very safe and protected, and all I wanted was to be around him. I used to take the train home from work and we would coordinate which car I was in so he could join me, and every time I would see him waiting on the platform I would get butterflies. We have different styles of communicating but above all else, we value the same things, and so for me, to quote John Green,"I fell in love like you would fall asleep: slowly, then all at once."

Lauren’s best friend for the past 30 years, Elliot is a true Gemini who loves cuddling his cats as much as he loves blowing stuff up for the government. In 6th grade, he won the school lip-sync contest dressed as Bono while performing the song “Vertigo,” and Lauren was very proud of him. To this day, she remains very proud of him.

Cory’s sister and winner of the 2024 Best Mother Of The Year award for her beautiful little baby, Phoenix. Chelsea and Cory were inseparable as children, smashing the stereotype that brothers and sister don’t get along. It has to have something to do with the fact that they’re 3 years apart and have the same birthday. The planets surely aligned that day. Chelsea shaped Cory into who he is today and Cory is still in awe of everything she accomplishes in life. She is Cory’s hero.

Abby and Lauren met freshman year of college where they were pit against each other by a guy they both had a crush on, who turned out to be a narcissist. Since determining they loved each other, they’ve been an inseparable team, traveling to Greece, Paris and England together and sharing  love of history, art, and exploring abandoned mental institutions. They once spent Christmas Eve together cleaning their newly acquired Washington Heights apartment followed by dinner at Dallas BBQ (iyknk), which sounds like an episode of Broad City but Lauren actually loves this memory.

Cory met Chris in acting school in 2008. The following year they lived in neighboring apartments and the year after they joined households and became roommates. They’ve spent many hours in each other’s company and are still not sick of one another. Notably, Chris introduced Cory to Lauren in January 2015, unknowingly to him he had set off a chain reaction that would lead to Lauren and Cory’s wedding day. The bride and groom owe him everything and love him dearly. But he’s a Scorpio, so, look out.

Amanda has been a constant in Lauren’s life since they met at Oakland University, where Lauren was enamored with her talent as a performer, her kindness and love of learning, and her effortless style. One Christmas Eve they were both orphans, and Lauren went over to Amanda’s apartment in Queens where Amanda made the most beautiful spread of food with all her nice china and silver wear, even though it was just the two of them, which says a lot about who Amanda is.

Cory and Emily grew up 20 minutes away from each other in Michigan, had several shared friends, Cory even played soccer in high school with Emily’s cousin. Miraculously, they never met until college, where they pieced all this information together. Cory told a joke once that Emily thought was funny and they have been the closest of friends ever since. Cory has always admired Emily’s work ethic and her massive artistic talent. Fun fact: Emily loves a good charcuterie board. Maybe because she’s Italian? No, it’s definitely because she’s Italian.

Cory and Joe were introduced to each other on a beautiful autumn day in Knoxville, TN. They bonded over music immediately and spent many nights orchestrating jam sessions at Joe’s house. Cory aspires to be half as good of a musician as Joe one day. Joe was there from the early days of Lauren and Cory’s courtship and he’s here now to bring them together forever. Joe lives at his home in Nashville with his dog Muppet and his cat Gonzo, and they have a great time together.

Washington Square Hotel

A unique and historic option, this converted townhouse is in a beautiful neighborhood, filled with charm and definitely might be haunted. Some of the rooms sleep up to 4 people, so depending on how you're traveling, it might be worth checking out. Still within walking distance of the reception.
