Q + A

Where Can I Stay the Weekend of the Wedding?

We have blocked out 25 rooms at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Lewisburg that are available for booking at a discounted rate. There are also a handful of houses & properties on AirBnB and VRBO in the area for rent.

How Can I Get to the Venue/Is Transportation Included?

Direct from our venue: “Google maps is proving to work better than other means such as Apple Maps or Waze. Guests should enter ‘Barn Appetit’ rather than an address into Google Maps. The app recognizes us as a point of interest landmark and will direct you to the venue.” Our venue is located in a fielded area of farm land across the Susquehanna River from Bucknell University. The white barn is visible from the roadway. There are ample Uber and Lyft services available in the area for personal use.

Is There a Dress Code?

We would love to see our closest friends and family all dressed up for the occasion! Our dress code is "semi-formal" meaning we do not expect ballgowns or suits, however, the camouflage and jeans can be left at home. For the ladies, our ceremony will be outside in a grass yard and the walkway from there to the barn for the reception is not paved. It is stone and gravel. Be mindful when choosing your footwear for the day. We want everyone to be as comfortable as possible!

What Time Should I Arrive to the Ceremony?

We plan to start our ceremony at 4:00 PM. In order to avoid any delays, we would recommend arriving 30 minutes prior.

Can I Take Pictures During the Ceremony?

We will be having an unplugged ceremony. We will kindly be asking everyone to turn off their cell phones. We have an amazing set of photographers that will be working very hard to capture the event. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Will the Wedding Be Indoors or Outdoors?

Weather dependent, we intend on having the ceremony and cocktail hour outdoors. We will be planning for and anticipating a backup plan if there is rain. The reception will be indoors in a non-temperature controlled barn. September weather is unpredictable. We would suggest planning for rain, sunshine, 50 degrees, or 90 degrees.

Is there Handicapped Parking/Accessible Features?

There are reserved handicap parking spots located at the front entrance of the barn. Our venue also provides a golf cart "shuttle" free of charge to assist in the transportation of guests as needed.

Can I Bring a Guest?

While we would love to share our special day with everyone, we are limiting the number of guests due to space. Invitations & RSVPs will be clearly marked with those invited to the event. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions.

Can I Bring My Children?

While we love to spend time with your little ones, our wedding is an adult only event. We hope you will see this as an opportunity to let your hair down and celebrate with us.

Can I Bring my Own Alcohol?

Our venue has a strict alcohol policy. PLEASE DO NOT bring coolers or your own alcohol to our event. We have hired a phenomenal bartender and have stocked them with an open bar that will have many choices for everyone to enjoy.

What Should I Do if I Have Allergies or Dietary Restrictions?

We want to make sure all of our guests are able to enjoy our meal. Our caterer will be providing meals to fit all needs including gluten-free options on our buffet. Please let us know if you are meat/dairy free and we will provide a plated meal for you during the reception. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns regarding food or allergies.

Is There a Gift Registry?

While gifts are never required or expected, our registry is linked to our wedding website under the “Registry” tab. We have linked items from Target and Amazon to the site that will be helpful in our new life as a married couple. You can also find the registries online at those stores by searching our names, wedding date & location. In addition, we have started several cash funds accessible under the “Registry” tab of our website. Please feel free to gift whatever you can. We truly appreciate all of your generosity.

What is the Best Way to RSVP and When is the Deadline?

We have provided two ways for our guests to RSVP. You may send back the paper RSVP card with your information through the mail. This will be provided with the invitation. You may also RSVP on our website by typing in you or your guest's name. Both of these methods will ask you to provide us with the same information. We ask for all RSVPs to be completed by August 14th, 2024.
